Last winter the temp was about -40 and when the car started all the transmission fluid blew out of the dip stick. The car is still drivable but will not go into overdrive. There was no previous trouble whatsoever with the transmission missing or anything. I am hoping it is something simple:) Thanks in advance :)

Have it towed to a reputable transmission shop as soon as possible. DO NOT DRIVE IT, or you will probably be looking at replacing the whole transmission. If any metal fragments get into the torque converter or in between the clutch discs it will be trashed. When one of the bands broke in my 1993 Eagle Vision, I tried to limp back home, but after about 5 miles, the car would not go any further. If I had just left it on the side of the highway and had it towed in, it would not have cost me $1350 for a rebuilt.

SOURCE: where is the dip stick for the transmission fluid
the dipstick is just behind and below the flex section of the air intake hose to the engine on the passenger side. Refer to page 228 of the owners manual
