93 suburban no power won't start no lights etc.

Moved the vehicle turned it off. One week later, won't start.. cranks no start. Pull the battery and charge... again cranks weakly no start. But the doors and lights work. Get new battery... tested it with booster cables... lots of spark. Put it in.. nothing... not even a light under the hood. What can this be. (Please note when the first battery was taken to garage he told me it was shorted).

SOURCE: Suburban won't start, we don't believe it's the starter

first try to check the fuse of the ignition if it is ok or clean coz some times when it has a corrosion it has the tendency of having a delayed power transmital . if it is fine then check the starter relay if it is good coz it also having a power surge so you have a delayed power to your starte...

I may not be all the way in park or the safety neutral switch in not working. Did you try and start it in Neutral? Also move your shifter around while the key is engauged and see if it will start.

Brake light fuse keeps blowing in my 1997 Suburban only when towing trailers.

If the fuse blows on different trailers then it's all down to the vehicle. You either have incorrect wiring on the vehicle, a short OR the fuse is not of a high enough value to cope with the additional brake lights? You could try removing all the trailer bulbs EXCEPT the brake lights - e.g. if it's trying to power up the indicators too? That would stop the fuse blowing...... OR remove the brake bulbs from the vehicle & see if it operates the trailer without blowing...... Check the total wattage of ALL the brake lamps & see if the fuse is actually of a high enough rating? Be aware though that increasing the value of the fuse could cause damage elsewhere! As a rough guide a 25 watt bulb will pull around 2 amps at 12 volts - so 4 bulbs may pull up to 8 amps & clearly blow a 5 amp fuse! If in doubt take it to an auto electrician...... The wiring needs to be correctly protected!

1992 toyota pickup won't start and battery won't charge

Sounds like your battery is just too dead, has enough juice to light up the system for a minute but cranking drains it and if it wont charge then deff fried, you could try removing the battery and starting the car with cables to confirm the starter still works. If a bettery is too dead then when you are jumping it, it takes to much of the power just trying to get through the battery.

2002 Buick Regal won't start

Hi Debbie , Do you know anything about automotive electrical systems an testing ? Viewing wiring diagrams to see what all is involved in the starting system on your vehicle would be the first step ,then testing the electrical circuits for the starter using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter .
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Starter Voltage Drop
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb Enter vehicle info. Year ,make , model an engine . Under system click engine ,then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the diagram I see when the key is turned to start it send a crank signal to the PCM - engine computer , if the PCM gets a valid fuel enable & starter enable signal from the anti-theft system it will energize the crank relay sending B+ voltage to the S terminal on the starter solenoid . That is if the park neutral safety switch is OK . You mite try putting the vehicle in neutral to see if it starts then. These switch wear on the inside that could cause a no start problem . You can test from the crank relay ,watch this video VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis In the video he uses a horn circuit , your crank relay works the same .

Shut truck off. come back later, and won't do anything, lights come on but no clicking at all. done twice to me. first time had towed. next day disconnected battery and hooked back up and it...

verify voltage and start signal to the starter when the truck won't start or click. most likely the starter solenoid has gone bad and will not engage the starter after the engine has warmed up.
