INTERMITTENT STALLING WHEN STOPPING.
INTERMITTENT STARTING...BUT FINALLY DOES.
SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF.

A very common for these problems is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. This leaks gas and causes extended crank times, stalling, and check engine light.

Expensive. Depending on whether it's just the air pump (usually) or solenoid valves, couple to several hundred bucks. Others can fix this, but need salvage or ebay parts.

Why does the engine just die in my 1999 Olds Intrigue?
You need to do some basic tests to eliminate or get closer to the issue. Possibilities: 1) Fuel delivery 2) Ignition signal lost temporarily 3) Engine air leak - causes rough slow idle/stalling. 4) Bad MASS air flow sensor. etc, etc.

My Olds Intrigue will not idile down after starting it, it will stay at about 1,000 to 2,000 RPM even after shifting it into gear.
MAY HAVE A VACUUM LEAK OR A BAD SENSOR

2001 Olds Intrigue... Intermittent Stalling when stopping. Intermittent Starting..but finally starts. Engine Service warning light came on recently, and now will not go away.
sounds like the crankshaft posistion censor.

Ignition Problems
I think in most cases you may have a weak fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter. Even though your fuel system is run by pressure it doesn't always prevent the car from stalling if the engine is starved because of a bad filter or faulty fuel pump

what could be be making the engine rotate more revolutions before it finally starts? does this even after warmup! Otherwise seems to run fine, just noticing more turnover time! Starter sounds okay also!
