A common problem on the 2003 focus are the electrics, i had a problem recently where the displays where not functioning, i took off the panel, checked the iso connector and before putting it back in i gave it a quick spray with wd40 and it al seemed to work, been in contact with the garage and for a new unit with callibration you are looking about £140 or so with labour and parts

SOURCE: 2000 ford focus speedometer stuck at max speed

it may have a static charge in the instrument cluster, try un-hooking the battery then turn the key on and even hit the brakes to try to drain the spark out of the system, hooking the 2 cables together with the battery disconnected may work as well to drain it.hook up the battery and see what happens, but make sure the key is off and nothing is on-lights,radio,wipers etc,it could send a spark to the computer.

Most likely a fuse,or the ignition switch is bad.

Replace the gage cluster you should be able to find a cheap one on craigslist or ebay if not the salvage yard should have one.

Temp and gas gauge doesn't work 1994 gmc jimmy

check the fuse block for a blown fuse, the one that controls dash gauges should be identified in the owner's manual.

1982 chey van , none of the dash gauges work , have changed out gas tank sending unit , brown wire looks good , fus looks good

If none of the gauges work, there is a power problem.
The gas tank sender grounds the fuel gauge and the temp sender on the engine block grounds the temp gauge.
Could be a wiring harness issue or a problem with the printed circuit board too.

I have a 1994 ford halfton 5l engin and it seems to be running hot but it dont show on thedash instrument when i come back from a ride say about 10 mile it smells hot

Check the operation of the gauge on the dash by disconnecting the wire from the water temperature sensor (it will have just 1 wire), and then turning the key to ON, without starting. Touch this wire to ground while watching the temp gauge. It should swing to HOT when the wire touches ground, and go back to COLD when the wire is removed from ground. If it works as it should, you need a new sensor. If the gauge does not respond as outlined, the gauge or wiring is faulty.
