Passanger side windshield wiper, chevy celebrity 1989

My passanger side windshield wiper is not properly functioning. I believe it is the ball-socket joint that has come loose, as every once in a while it will move just a little bit, like it is being pushed by the bar. I don't know how to get under there with out takeing the hood of the car off completely. Any suggestions?

i have done that, but The cowl is unable to lift off due to the windshield wipers themselves, as well, they run into the hinges for the hood when I open it. I've already taken all the screws and bolts off of the cowl.

I have not taken off the arm to check on that, I don't know how to do that, please advise on how to take the wiper arm off.

Have you pulled wiper arm off to see if splined drive is rotating as it should? Maybe just stripped at arm, or have you already checked that?

You should be able to access all the screws for the Windshield Cowl with the Hood Open for the Inside ones and Closed for the Ones on the Top outside.

Have to take the Arms off. There is a Very small Tab That needs to be Pulled out with Pliers at the base of each Wiper arm where they Mount and Swivel, This needs to pulled loose and you can work the Arms off the Shafts.

My wipers on my 2004 Chevy Venture don't work properly. The driver side does not work but the passanger side does. The driver side moves freely, so when i move it all the way up, it falls over the side...

There are nuts on the wiper arm posts under plastic caps[ if still there ] they looen sometimes and the arm won't move turn off the wipers so the 'park' and check the nut for tightness - should be quite snug. it that dosen't fix it then you have a linkage problem from the motor.

1994 chevy 1500 windshield wiper. One works fine, but the other only move 3 inches in the up position and it slides toward the side mirror

your wiper transmission has dislodged itself from the wiper arm on the passanger side...
Take hold of the passanger side wiper arm and see if it moves independantly ( not in sequence with the drivers side wiper arm).

You may be required to remove the fresh air intake valance and install a new ( used?) wiper transmission assembly...
What happens is the plastic cups on the wiper transmission wear out and pop off...
easy fix ya !

Front windshield wipers are crashing into each other

Yes you can adjust them yourself. First you need to check that the wiper arms are not bent. If not, remove the cap at the wiper arm base, under it u will find a nut, remove this nut. you should now be able to remove the wiper arm. (it is comon for caravan wiper arms to be corroded on. If the arm dosen't come off, you may need to heat up the wiper arm with a propane torch. be careful not to melt the plastic cowel under the arm. OR you can use a wiper puller or a battery puller. do not force it, you can break the arm, DO NOT PRY AGAINST THE COWEL OR WINDSHIELD.
Once both arms are off, turn your van on and turn the wipers on. watch the wiper posts, turn the wipers off and watch the wiper posts return and stop in the "parked" position. Turn the van off. Install the passanger wiper arm first, it is positioned closest to the bottom an inch or two above the black cowel. It should be parrallel to the cowel. next install the drivers side wiper arm. it is positioned about 4 inches above the passanger wiper. again running parrallel to the cowel and passanger wiper. tighten the lock nuts down (do not over tighten) wet down your windshield with glass cleaner or windshield washer fluid and test wipers. If they still hit you can lower the passanger one a little or raise the drivers one a little (careful you don't raise the drivers one too much or it will 'jump' off the windshield at the top of the wipe).
good luck, hope this helps.
