SOURCE: tail lights and reverse lights out.

Check the bulbs for the tail/brake lights. If you put in single filament bulbs it will be on from the tail light voltage and the brakes will not show.
Try this;
Turn off the lights, press the brake pedal. Look at the brightness of the brake lights.
Now turn on the lights. Look at the brightness of the lights. If is the same as before the bulbs are wrong. You need two filament bulb.

SOURCE: Replace license plate lights

Hi there,

Firstly, remove the four screws on the bottom of the license plate light assembly using a Phillips screwdriver. Then pull the license plate light cover out away from the rear of the car. Pull the bulb forward and pull it straight out of the wiring socket.

A press the new bulb into place until it is secure. Push the bulb and wiring assembly back up inside the light assembly and replace the license plate light cover. Replace the four screws that secure the light cover and tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver. Finally, turn on the lights to test the new bulb.

Hope this helps...

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Toyota

You have to remove the rear door inside panel.First thing is to remove the top and side interior trim panels, they just pop out by prying them away after they are out the metal retaining clips sometimes stay in the door, pull them out and put them on the plastic panel before reinstalling. Then the strap that you use to close it has a cover on it that you have to push up to get off then remove the 10 mm bolt that holds the strap. Then pry the panel away from the door I think that the bottom has two hooks on it which means that the top needs come off first so you can lift the panel hooks out of the slots.Once the panel is off you will see the bulbs they twist out and you have to pull the bulbs out.Good luck

2004 malibu. i have replaced license plate bulbs but they are still not working. can someone please tell me where their fuse is?

Sorry to say the license plate lights get power from the same circuit the parking lights do. So if the parking lights work, the license plate lights should have power too.

Bulb on license plate is out and cruise control. 2004 cavalier

The two problems should not be related to one another. The the fuses for the park lights and the cruise control. The license plate bulb is wired along with the rest of your park lights. If the rest of the park lights are working then check for power and ground at the bulb holder. If you have both there, check the bulb and the fit again. If no power or ground is there you will have to trace the wires. If the fuse is not blown to the cruise control, more information is required to trouble shoot any further.

License plate light replacement

The license plate lights are in the ledge above the license plate. 2 screws keep the lens cover in place. Remove the screws, and the cover comes off. Just pull the lamp out (wedge base) and replace.

I have no tail lights or liscence plate lights

Does the fuse have power in and out when a test light is used? This test would be run with the light switch on.
