Engine light comes on for 200 or so miles, then goes off for 200 or 300 miles. test shows egr a circuit high. can't find a book for this jeep to locate egr valve or sensor.

2008 jeep cherokee (hemi) engine light its on i brought to fix they change 4 sensor and the converter. After 5 days engine light comes on again, what else can be? im depress about it, after paying almost 2 grand to fix this issue.
P0406 indicates high voltage on the EGR sensor circuit. this is recommended for every 30,000 miles be inspected. although EGR system do not requires periodic inspection. instead, check only if engine trouble's develop. most EGR's requires replacing EGR valve, cleaning passages and installing new vacuum hose. misrouted vacuum hose causes engine poor operation. so. not just to unplug it.
code #0406 = egr position sensor circuit high ( stuckegr valve or bad egr sensor most likely sensor )
code #2096 = downstream fuel trim system lean ( see next code )
code #0137 = O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 circuit low ( replace rear O2 sensor driver side )
code #2299 = brake peddle position/accelerator pedal position incompatible. ( hav you been power braking this truck? ) ( brake light was on wile accelerator was being pushed )
3.3 engines has the egr valve with transducer.you have to replace the whole unit. code p0406 what its trying to tell you your egr valve circuit is short to ground.it has failed .
The egr valve is located on the front of the right cylinder head. It has a tube attached to it and going to the intake manifold.It has failed and is why your jeep is running rough and hesitating. Replace it and it will fix your driveabllity issues. Disconnect the battery for 2 min to clear the code.
Check your Racket Pinion, and gearbox. Make sure there is no moisture around it. Seems like you either have a leak in your suspension, or improper pressure somewhere inbetween your stearing box, and your front end.
