Car will not start

On new years eve my car started fine in the morning, then when i went out to get in the car to go somewhere later that evening the care would not start.I had someone come over to look at it and to jump it and it still would not start. It will not even turn over but you can hear the fuel pump when you turn the key.I was told that day it ws not the starter nor the alternator.. A friend of mine said it could have somthing to do with the Micro relays or the maxi breaker..Could you please help me with this and i hope when i go to get it fixed it does not cost a pretty penny.

This sounds like a BAD CRANK SENSOR -- this provide the reference signal for the vehicle to get spark, based on what you said that the fuel pump is running the is most likely your problem. Good luck contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA

Easy to find if you don't know , Follow the positive battery cable it splits after it leaves the battery One end goes to the alternator one end goes to starter its wedge between the engine and the tranny. Good Luck

Starter solenoid or just a starter bad, sometimes this comes out of nowhere but usually you can hear it start cranking slow shortly before failure.

The car turns over like it is going to start but won't. It is still firing, has good battery, alternator and gas in it. It is a 1996 plymouth neon. Started fine when I went to work this morning, b

tell individual working on it to check the crankshaft sensor voltage and signal when it wont start also check the fuel pressure and cam sensor, these are all possible problem with that particular car. it also has wiring issues that an expert tech would have to diagnose

Battery drains while car is not driven

Try charging the battery out of the vehicle. If it holds a charge, you have an open circuit somewhere. Check your light switch first. Make sure the interior lights are off.

Hi fellow mechanics, Today I woke-up and my 98

this sounds like you have a battery that is not 100% charged. charge battery or replace it with a new one and this should solve your problem. ( check the age of the battery -- most car batteries are only good for 5 years max ). with a bad battery you should be able to jump start the car ( but sometimes the battery is so dead that it actually draws down the jumper battery to the point where it will not start the car ). as soon as you get a new battery - double check the alternator output to make sure that it is charging the battery.
you can pop the battery out and have it charged and tested by a local battery / auto part shop and they can tell you if in fact the battery is bad.

Started up this morning fine went and did not start at all later.

remove and, clean your battery cable clamps then retighten and, test.
If your battery is too discharged "jump" it using jumper cables and, another car.

STILL HAVING PROBLEM WITH CAR...

i can only go by what your saying here, but to me it sounds like its your starter, either selanoid or drive, either case its best to replace it. can you find anyone around with some mecanical ability like a local michanic or auto parts store that can look at it for you. if i was there(witch i'am not) most likely i could tell you what is wrong.
