Look in your owners manual/package if you have one and there should be a stereo code card in it or possibly someone may have written it in the owners manual. If not, remove stereo and get serial # and call the dealer and describe your dilemma. They have the codes in a database and can give it to you. Unless they're A-holes and are very hungry you may have to bring the car in and have it done for about an hours labor charge. Then make sure you write the code down and keep it in a safe place.

SOURCE: Honda radio says ERROR E

You only get like 10 tries this means you made to many attempts trying to put the wrong code in. Disconnect the battery cable and then try putting the code in the radio again.

SOURCE: Need the free radio code to unlock a Honda Accord

If the code is not written on the radio casing or inside the glove compartment, in/under the ashtray, behind the sun visor (or similar “hidden” place inside your car ) then the majority of HONDA codes may be available here

https://radio-navicode.honda.com

You will require the car VIN number and Radio serial Number

If they cannot provide your code then you will have to try your HONDA Main Dealer .....or a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Battery lost charge recently after car sat unused for 10 days. Now, the sound system won't work. I don't get a "code" message on the display - no response at all when I press the audio key on the panel.

Have to re-enter the radio code

I would guess it came with the vehicle
new, & there is instructions in the owners manual

The only other thing is to ask a dealer for the code
& install procedure

I need a radoi code for my 2002 Mercedes CLK 430

Please check the information that came along with the owner's manual. It should be printed on a card that comes with those booklets. I assume you've already done that though. I've attached the procedure for entering the code below. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.

If the radio is disconnected from the power supply it is not ready for operation when reconnected. After switching on the ignition and the radio the word "CODE" appears on the display and the letter "C" flashes.

NOTE: The five-digit code number for this radio is printed on the CODE CARD which you were given.

Enter the code number with station buttons, e.g. number 1, station button 1.

After entering the first digit the word "CODE" disappears and the digit entered is displayed followed by 4 dashes. The next digit to be entered flashes. After all 5 digits are entered, the first digit flashes again. In this state the code number can be written over repeatedly. A correction can be made only by reentering the entire code number.
Confirming the code number: Press seek-UP/seek-DOWN or SCAN button. The radio switches on automatically and displays the station or frequency stored for station button 1.

If the wrong code number has been entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears on the display again. After the code has been entered three times incorrectly the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio is disabled for approx. 10 min .

NOTE: The waiting time continues to run only when the radio is switched on.

After expiration of the waiting time the word "CODE" appears on the display again and the correct code number can be entered. After 3 more incorrect entries the radio is again disabled for 10 min . After 3 more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect entries) the waiting time is increased to 60 min . After 3 more incorrect entries the radio locks up again for 60 min .

03 honda accord cd player wont come on. Says ErrE

There is a big possibility that the unit has an internal failure, and it needs to be replaced. First of all, you need to reset the radio to ask you for its code. Disconnect both battery terminasl for some 30 seconds and reconnect then.

Long time I heard that the Error E only comes on when you try to decode it 10 times then have to unhook the battery for 30 seconds and let it sit and after an hr you can try 10 more decodes.

If after doing this, the radio asks for a CODE, then you need the code now, but if the radio keeps displaying ERROR E the radio is bad (the radio will never give you any code to unlock it for that purpose you must go to your nearest Honda dealer as they are authorized to retrieved it online from factory).

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Had dead battery in 2002 honda civic got jump now word CODE in radio display

try disconecting the positive terminal of the batery for sevral minets (5-10) this will reset the brain box memory for the stero aswell as for the car it self.

what caused the batery to go dead in the first place?
things that i can think of :
1) left headlights on over night
2) bad altenator not charging batery
3) battery is old and not taking a charge anymore
4) new stero installed incorectly and drainging the batery
have you resently installed a new stero or amplifyer?
is the turn key igntion system hooked into the amp/stero antena lead so that thy are shut of when the ignition is?
of note: new streo >theres a blue wire marked ant that goes to the amplifyer if not there you need to find the orange accsesory wire coming from the turn key igntion>check for power when ignition is in the on & off states could be yellow in some cars but is usaly orange if this wire has on and of state controled by the turn key igntion this would be the wire to tap into for the amplyfire and the radio main power
check your radio's instaltion guide for code errors
its posible that when hooking up the jump it was done incorectly and blew up the radio
ie postive and negative where fliped
hope this helped :)

I changed the battery in my truck...and the radio reset back to lock..however i dont have the code and tried to guess a few times and now it say Inop...how do i fix this?

Ok your unlock code is going to be 1718. Here is how to unlock this radio.
• Press the HR button until the LOC disappears and OOO appears on the display.
• Set the first two digits (01-19) of the code with HR (hours) button. • Note: As if you're setting the time of day you will not see the 0 in the far left side. Example; if the first two digits of your code is 02 you will scroll with the HR button until 2 appears on the display.) • Set the next two digits (00-99) of the code with the MIN (minute) button. • Press the AM-FM button to enter the code. The radio will now be unlocked and the display will change to the clock.

Problem with entering anti-theft radio code for Honda Fit: The radio screen says: "Enter Code:" I enter the confirmed correct code, but when doing so when the actual code (all numbers) turn into letters or...

when you use the "preset keys" (the keys on the radio with numbers on them) to enter the code, each time you press a code number, a letter appears [c, o, d, e]. once the word is spelled out, from entering the correct 5 digits, the radio is reset, ready to go.

BUT if you miss a number, enter a wrong number, whatever, each number pressed, still makes a letter appear from the word "code". once the word is spelled out, by entering ANY 5 numbers, if ANY of the 5 is wrong, the radio displays a message "Error" and then a number 1 thru 10.

When you see the word "Error..."

the next preset button you push, starts the whole thing over again. The radio says "Enter code". That is when you enter the 1st of the 5 digits, the letter C appears, enter the next digit, the letter O appears, enter the next digit, the letter D appears, enter the last digit, the letter E apperas, the radio is reset, ready to go, if you got the 5 correct numbers entered.

you have 10 chances to enter the right 5 digit code. Each wrong try of 5 digits yeilds a display of "Error 1", "Error 2", "Error 3", etc 'till you get to 10 incorrect tries of 5 digits each.

If you dont get it right in 10 tries, you have to leave the radio "on" for an hour, then it will let you start the 10 tries over again.

Good luck!

Acura TSX 2005 radio code

I had the same problem when I had my battery replaced. I guess the mechanic tried to enter the code.... and after 10 tries he failed of course, and the system locked itself and gave the ERROR message.
All you need to do is leave the system on for an hour (Yes, leave it on... meaning you most likely need to drive around for an hour... and sit in the car for an hour doing nothing....) Then the ERROR message will change back to CODE (you will hear a long beep)
Now you can enter your code. Remember do it slowly. Enter the key 1 by 1... Do not input quickly, otherwise it will not work
Hope this helps!
