Question about 1990 Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback

I have a Mitsubishi 1990 Mirage 1.5 engine, it just quit running engine rotates but I get no spark at the coil or at the spark plugs, is there a test for ignition module?

Ignition module is expensive $67.00 to install and still not have it work.

    Those cars have problems with databox cause no spark and no fuel to engine often a leaking condesator problen in box CAN OFTEN BE REPAIRED WITH NEW PARTS.

Do you still have your old Engine Control Module? What engine is it out of? and what year? If you are willing to sell the new one or the old one at a reasonable price i will be willing to but it!

Where is #2 spark plug located and is there a coil attached to it
The 1.5 engine uses a distributor and plug wires, the 1.8 engine uses a coil on each plug.
Number two would be the second over from the timing belt.

HI, I'm having a problem with my mitsubishi mirage on ignition coil it was heating up easily
Check your coil and spark plug wires first, a bad or shorted wire will cause too much resistance and the coil will get hot...the coil itself could be bad...it can be tested with an ohm meter

Spark plug gap for 1990 Mitsubishi Lancer
hi, in the american database for alldata, there is no lancer in 1990, if your engine is dohc, or sohc though, i checked 2.0 and 1.8, both are 1.0mm - 1.1mm gap. shouldn't be any problem running at these gaps, most every mitsubishi engine runs at this spark plug gap.

I have a 1994 mirage i have replaced the spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap, still wont start. i am getting fuel to injectors and starter is cranking what else can i check
Check for spark; pull the plug fom the coil, place @ 1/4" from grounded metal, crank over and look for spark.

Please let me know wat you find.

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

The rotor spins counter clockwise and bottom of the distributor cap is the number one spark plug lead.

Are you referring to the SPARK plugs? The Mirage's 1.8 engine does not use standard spark plugs, because it is fuel injected. It uses 4 fuel injectors that has gas hookups & electrical hookups. They are located on the head in the back.

Do not know where spark plugs are located in motor
the spark plugs wires are directly located on top of the engine and the spark plugs are down inside the holes in the valve cover itself. I believe there are also 2 coils on top of the engine, which hide two of the spark plug wires which are attached directly to the underside of each coil, remove the coil pull it upward carefully and you will find the spark plugs for those two in the hole underneath the coil for each one. If you decide to replace the plugs, make sure to check the spark plug gap even if they tell you they are pre-gapped as pre-gapped spark plugs are usually gapped for more than one particular car and it may be incorrectly gapped for your specific vehicle. If you decide to also replace the spark plug wires, you will have to purchase the spark plug wires for the underside of each coil seperately because most local auto parts stores only sell 2 spark plug wires in the set that go onto the non-coil attached wires and plugs, and you have to purchase the coil spark plug wires seperately. So all in all you should have 4 spark plug wires, 2 that attach directly underneath the 2 coils, then 2 regular type wires that run to the other spark plugs. If you look at the valve cover and see the wires, you will see what i am saying better. Just don't forget to ask the autoparts store the spark plug gap recommended for you car, and adjust the gap on the plugs as needed. good luck.
