How do i unlock the radio on a 2001 grand am se dont have code

Because you have removed the radio from a power source it automatically goes into stolen mode making the radio useless when stolen. This mode is selected when you change the battery but in that case you would have access to the code to re-enter it. Talk with a radio tech and they may be able to say how to fix or where to go to get the code.

It appears that you have an electrical short somewhere. If you are mechanically inclined and have hours of time and electrical knowledge, good luck! Sometimes these problems can be easily found where the wiring harness runs through the firewall from the fuse panel under the dash to the engine compartment relay box. Vibrations of the engine over time on a vehicle over 10 years old will chafe the wires over time on places where the wires lay over body frame components. Also heat and time on a cars wiring harness over a decade can damage wiring in the engine compartment or along exhaust manifold underneath. Try looking in those places for visible damage before tearing out all the interior or dash.

call your dealer, give them the vin and verify ownership and the will give you a four digit code to put in the radio to unlock it

Hello, how to take the unlock code off a radio on a grand am ,if you forget it press 2&3 for 10 seconds write down the 3 digit number then press am/FM right after write down that 3 digit number then call 1800 537 5140 type in this dealer #620529 press 3 after you enter the number then they give you a unlock number skips paying for it being down then press hour set button till you have the first 2 digits of the unlock code then press min for the following 2 and then press am/FM right after there u have unlocked it.

unfortunately you would only have the code if you bought it new, each code is radio specific and can only be obtained by the dealer, if you have the owners manual it might have been written down by the original owner if that is not you

The LOC stands for locked
You will need a code to get this radio to operate.
You will need to have the code entered at any GM dealership & have proof of ownership with your ID
It is a theft deterrent system installed on all radios these days since the 90's

in your manual there might be a lock out code if not call your dealer with your vin# and they will give you a lock out gode

The radio can only be unlocked at a dealership. They use your VIN to unlock it. I had to do this with a friend's car when I installed a new stereo in her '01 Grand Am. Hope this helps.
