91 Buick Century 2.5 L brake light on & battery light on

1991 Buick Century with 2.5 L engine. For 2 months Brake light stays on when running. Brake fluid is not low. Brakes work great and have been checked out.

Now the battery light comes on when engine off. 4 hours battery dead.

Can jump start car and runs great. The battery and alternator is good on Advance Auto Parts tester. (while both in vehicle)

I've had this problem. Check the brake switch. It's located behind the black plastic shroud above the pedals and below the steering column. Pretty much dead center. Cheap and easy fix, just plug in a new one. They're about $12 from autozone, I think.

For the Brake light to stay on and the fluid is up...sounds like your sensor is playing dead......

For the battery to die after only (4) hours..you have a very big drain on the battery itself.....without the vehicle right here to look at would be very hard to even guess...electrical problems are a hands on chore...

I'd take it to your garage/mechainc

How to turn off traction control for a 2002 Buick Century

The Enhanced
Traction System
warning light may
come on for the
following reasons:

If you turn the system off by shifting to SECOND (2)
or FIRST (1), the warning light will come on and stay
on. To turn the system back on, shift to THIRD (3) or
AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE (). See “Enhanced
Traction System” in the Index.

If the Enhanced Traction System warning light
comes on and stays on for an extended period of
time when the system is turned on, your vehicle
needs service. Adjust your driving accordingly.

The warning light will come on when you set your
parking brake with the engine running, and it will
stay on if your parking brake doesn’t release fully.
If the transaxle shift lever is in any position other
than FIRST (1) or SECOND (2) and the warning
light stays on after your parking brake is fully
released, it means there’s a problem with the system.

If the traction control system is affected by an
engine-related problem, the system will turn off
and the warning light will come on.

91 Buick Century-About 75-80% of the time I will start my car the service engine light will stay on. It idles really high then when I put it in gear it sputters and almost always dies unless I give it lots...

Sounds like carbon build up on the ( IAC Valve ) idle air control valve. Take IAC valve off and get a can of non-chlronated brake cleaner and a wire brush and clean carbon out of valve. If this does'nt fix it take the mass air flow sensor off and do same but do'nt use wire brush just the cleaner.Afterwards reset the computer by taking the ground off the battery for 30 seconds or pull the ECM fuse out then put it back and this will reset the computer.HOPE THIS HELPS!!

1996 Buick Century 6 cyl. The brake lights stay on after the ignition is turned off. Where is the brake light switch located and how do I remove it?

Hello

The break light switch is down under the dash. Follow the brake pedal up and your hand will hit it. Release the tabs and slowly pull the connector out and the lights should turn off.

have a great weekend.
