It definitely sounds like the battery has had its day. Unhook the battery from the vehicle, charge it....leave it unhooked over night, and attach next day.... if the battery has life, it could be an accessory in the car is taking the power. if not, replace battery

SOURCE: 2003 Impala - mystery problem???

you have something thats staying on with power when you shut the car off, first check all lights glove apartment, underhood,in trunk ,just because ther closed doesnt mean the light is off, check your car at night it might help to see the lights,if not another way is to take a multi meter to the battery and while some holds the meter pull out fuses in your fus box one at a time to see when the meter makes a change, this will help you to narrow down whats staying on and draining the power from the battery,if this helps please give me a fix ya vote

SOURCE: my renault megane scenic only starts some days and

you may have a problem with the alternator sometimes not charging, may test okay sometimes, take a good look at the alternator and also make sure nothing is staying on, like inside lights, glove box light or brake lights, keep an eye on these things when parking the car for the day, something may be draining the battery down slowly.

You can't charge a dead battery with a dead battery. The alternator needs power in order to generate power. So you jump and it starts, but because the battery has little to no power, you're getting little to no recharging. Charge the battery with a REAL battery charger. Then try running it.

My dash is displaying "BAS/ESP" light, and I've had to charge the battery just to get the vehicle started. Every time I turn off the car, the next day it will be dead again.

You have a bad relay fuse. Located in you fuse box under hood. Found this out on my own 2mts ago.ESP/BAS would only stop when battery cable was disconnected. Have not had another problem.

Hello i have a 2004 expedition , and i have been having issues with my battery draining. about a month and a half ago i went away vacation , came home to start my truck only to relize my battery was dead....

Your solution is a little hard to find too bad they told you to change the alternator. It is a simple fuse you need to change that is blown. on the expetion sometimes there are two one in the fuse box and one under a black cover follow the alternator small wires it should point to the direction of the small i believe 7.5 amp fuse. it was hard to find and i do this for a living. good searching.

Sounds like a battery to me. The cold doesnt drain the battery it just makes it more difficult to produce enough energy to crank the car. If the battery is weak already, the cold just makes it worse. Replace it and move on!

I've tried boosting my car, but my car wont start. It has been sitting in the garage for about a year. A new alternator and battery were put in about a year ago. Why isn't my car starting now?

if the battery is completely dead, it may need to be charged properly rather than boosted. if you have access to a battery charger, try that.
