O/D Light Blinking Like its Not in Overdrive, But it goes into Overdrive fine. After driving for a minute or two my radio turns off, DVD player will Not turn off and keeps trying to read disc. I believe the "accumulator" continues to run in the rear a/c, makes a clicking noise even though it's turned off. Car Runs beautifully as far as transmission and engine wise. Could it be PCM? HELP!!!!!!! -Donna
O/D light flashing is telling there is a problem with the transmission an trouble codes are stored . The clicking you hear in the rear climate control system is mode door or blend door actuator . There is no accumulator in the rear A/C system . If the A/C system had a accumulator it would be in the engine compartment . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop.

Have a load test done on the battery. If it checks out good, take a voltmeter to the battery and have an assistant rotate the engine. If you see more than a 2 volt drop when the car is being started, the starter is heading south.

Check all of the battery terminals and cables and check the wires on the starter/selonoid, start from the battery and follow the cable out and check all conections , clean and tighten them and if it still does it the starter/selonoid is bad and needs replacement...
SOURCE: 2003 Mountaineer won't start, battery is good.
CHECK BATTERY CABLES AND FOR CORROSION,A BAD GROUND OR BAD CONNECTION WILL CREATE ENOUGH RESISTANCE TO PREVENT STARTER TO CRANK OVER ENGINE. IF BATTERY HAS 12V DOESN'T MEAN IT'S GOOD,IT COULD HAVE ON 100 CCA'S, NOT ENOUGH.

My husband had the same problem with his 02 Mountaineer about 6 months ago. I read somewhere that if you take WD40 & spray the door locks it should stop. We tried it & so far it's worked. Good luck!

I have a 2003 Mountaineer that had the same symptoms. After doing some research, me and Google decided it was the Blend Door Actuator. It is a fairly difficult job due to having to take pretty much the whole dash off, but I did it myself with minimal experience. I included a few links.
