sounds like you have a bad ground wire or the wire going to the sides is broken. you may have to check the connections till you find where the wires are connected. if you can test the two side lights with a battery to confirm they do work and are not bad bulbs. or switch them with working light bulbs to confirm they work. then if they work they you need to start looking for a section of wire that may be broken or is corroded and will need to reconnected to make work again.
If that's the case then it's definitely a reverse switch issue. If the reverse switch is faulty, the reverse light won't work even if the bulbs are fine. It is located underneath the transmission where it triggers when reverse is engaged. Have it replaced and you'll be good.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
There is a reverse light switch in your gearshift on some cars/trucks that can go bad..
I would check the light bulbs, then the wiring back to your reverse lights, check to see if you have a fuse that could of blown for your model truck, then think about replacing your reverse switch.
If they all stopped working at the same time then it is probably a fuse or possibly 2. Check your fuse panels in the dash and under the hood. The dash lights and gauges should be a fuse labeled instrument cluster or guages, it is probably blown. The other fuse to look for will be the tail light fuse. This is where I would begin.
you bcm (body control module is bad) to have the dealer replace it will run you about $400. a quick fix for the reverse light is to splice 2 wires into the wire for the center plug in your trailer wiring. now run a wire up to each reverse light, cut the green wire to each reverse light and **** conect them up. this is a seperate revers feed than the one from the bcm. the dome lights remove the light cover on the second set of interior lights (the one between the drivers seats). the two side bulbs are map lights the center bulb is for the dome lights. run a jumper wire from the right or leftside socket to the center socket. you dome lights will now turn on with just the use of that switch i replaced the back bulbs with led's soo there is no extra amp's being drawn. you could bypass the bcm but i could not find any wiring diagrams for it and i dont know if it can take the added amp's
did you test for power to the bulbs, possibly a bad ground connection for the bulbs, or the selector lever is broken reverse sensor is usually on the trans
It`s the reverse light switch under the bonnet had to replace it on my 16v t reg corsa costs about 8-£10 and comes off easily because it`s just a bolt with electricals leading to the back lighting. This happens on every Corsa. Let me guess Your Heater control lights and fan swich lights have gone too on the interior. Any problem corsa related, been there done it.
