SOURCE: Peogeot 307 suspected faulty reversing light switch.

The reverse light switch is located on the transmission housing which is behind/under the air filter housing/battery on the 2.0 litre D turbo model. To replace it you will need to remove the top of the air filter housing and the filter (2 screws plus release the air intake pipe connected to it by a large jubillee clip, also unclip a couple of cables). To remove the switch disconnect the cable clipped to it. You will need a deep 22mm socket and a universal/flexible coupling to unscrew the switch (as access is poor unless you remove the battery compartment/air filter housing).

SOURCE: 2004 Landrover Freelander stop/reverse light fuse keeps blowing

I had a persistent problem of hill light warning and TCS warning lights coming on for no apparent reason. There is a wire connection between the stop light switch and the control unit to let the system know when brakes are being applied. Changing the stop light switch cured it. The replaced switch was certainly sticking and the new one was of a different design. Replaced it myself as switch comes with a wiring loom. Need to get on your back under the steering wheel! Not very expensive. My car 2001 TD4

SOURCE: Reversing lights don't work.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

SOURCE: my peugeot 206 diesel keeps cutting out, now it

In my opinion cut off problem occurs if engine is not getting sufficient fuel and/or air. Clean the air filter, turbo filter and fuel filter. Check the continuity of diesel flow from filter to hdi pump. If you haven't found any problem there then the possibily the hdi pump and injectors section needs to be checked. If the car has done more than 100000 miles then clean inlet and outlet manifolds including check of turbo and EGR valve. Do everything whatever possible before you take your car to garage. If there is no luck then let your car diagnosed and check any error code recorded by ecu.

I have a Peugeot 206. One headlight isn't working. I've checked the bulb by putting it on the other side. The connector also seems ok. What else could be causing the problem ? Grateful for any help.

If you are positive that the bulb and connector are OK...then there could be several root causes:
Bad wiring:
There could be a short somewhere between the connector and fuse/relay or ground.
But you need to figure out first ... is it BOTH the high and low beams that are out on that side of the car?
I think your bulb has 3 spades for a combination high/low beam bulb. Knowing which line is dead helps on figuring out which wire(s) is the issue. If both high and low do not work ... then it is the ground wire.
If you have a voltmeter you can test out the wiring.
Bad Light Control Module (if your car has this; I could not confirm)
I am not sure if the Peugeot has a light control module but on some Saabs there is one and it caused your same symptom. Read link to learn more

Peugeot 206 xs

Turn on the tail lights and using a test light check to find the existing power wire.
Find the wire that goes to on pin for the bulb and connect together . Next check another wire with some one applying the brakes . find another wire that goes to another pin for the bulb and connect that up . using a multimeter check that the last wire is connected to the bulb socket as an earth. and connect that up to the last wire . If you have a dull stop light then reverse the two power wires

Hi it sounds like the switch for the lights, try tapping the switch see if they come on if not remove it and have a closer look at it. It may need replacing.

Hope this helps

My back light and one of my headlights are not working on my peugeot 206. My boyfriend changed the bulb in the back light but it's still not working. All of the fuses are ok. What else could it be?

Hi mate,
This is a common problem on the rear lights on 206's.
They have a problem with water leaking into the units and over time this corrodes the bulb holders and sometimes the wiring plugs. the only remedy is to replace the bulb holder unit.
As for the head lights they may just require a pair of bulbs.

its easy, on top of box you can see the plug, normally a two pin i think your switch or plug is white, you can unplug and stick a piece of wire across terminals, then check if lights are on, if not its not the switch, do this and tell me how u got on
