Heating and A/C doesn't work in the front, but works on 2nd & 3rd rows.

I have a 2001 Dodge Durango and the heating and a/c works fine on the 2nd and 3rd rows. But, doesn't work in the front. I was told the same blower works for the front and back. If that is true, I'm not sure why it's not blowing in the front. Could it be the blend door?

SOURCE: Front Blower

ok, missed the part about the rear ac working, the part that causes this is called the air temperature control blend door actuator motor, it is an electric motor driven gear drive that moves the plastic door inside the air ducking to mix or shut off the hot or cold air from the ac evaporator core or the heater core, you will need to replace it.

I would have to say the resistor also. Cheap part and the labor is free when you do it yourself. It should be located behind your glovebox.

SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Durango won't blow cold in front!! Rear air works fine

you are bodging it and as you dont know anything about the A/C system then leave well alone and get it done with a machine.the whole system needs to be evacuated oil drain needs to be measured then refilled with the correct grade of oil and then regassed with the correct WEIGHT of gas and possibly a leak sealer added using special equipment. If it still doesnt work properly then it needs draining again and the venturi valve removing and checking out on the front unit. This is a specialised job for highly skilled operatives with the right equipment

Yes there is a high blower motor relay just for that speed. It may be mounted near the blower motor, behind the glove box,or under the hood.

No heat or air to 2nd or 3rd row of 2007 Chrysler pacifica

Dear An,
The vents that direct the air to certain areas of the cars or trucks are plastic, and over time, will warp, or stick, or break.
This applies to all cars & trucks.
A good rule of thumb is, 10 years of working correctly.
If you choose to fix this, or have it fixed, start with the under dash unit, in a ********* plastic box.
Open that up and see if everything is working properly.
Then go to the tubes or pipes that send the heat or cool to the rear.
This may requires taking the seats and the carpets out to access those tubes or pipes.
Understand a dealer may charge you many hundreds of dollars, or even a few thousand to do this, because it is "labor intensive".
God bless your efforts.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

No heat or a/c from second row vents

I have the same problem with my 2002 Durango. After accessing the rear HVAC unit you will find that there is a rear electronic actuator that operates a plastic door inside the duct system. The door switches the rear system between heat and cold. I had two broken items, the white actuator connector has a tab that broke off and the door inside the duct has broken where this connector fits inside. I am still trying to find the parts on line. I do not know what the part numbers are for these two items. Hope that helps, it seems to be a typical problem with the older durango's.
