Battery light is on after installing new battery

try testing the wiring and circuit for problem

If you had the proper voltage regulator
control the light would be out

Need to have that checked out before
you ruin the new battery or alternator

To check for electrical leak remove the eart wire from the battery and place a test light in the circuit. If it lights up there is something still on. Boot light etc. IF there is not power flowing have the battery load tested for a faulty cell

When you jump started the vehicle, it started as normal and you drove to a shop to have a new battery installed.?? Correct??

1. Who removed the old battery and installed the new one?

2. Did the car start normally immediately after the new battery was fitted? How frequently were you able to drive the car on the new battery before the problem you described appeared?

3. Has anything been done to the vehicle since the new battery was fitted.?

First check for spark at any of the spark plugs.

clean and lubricate the switches in the door jamb, and spray with lubricant the door latches-worst case just remove the bulbs until you can spend some time chasing it down, and just because, make certain you don't have the interior lights switched on at the dash (it happens)

Hi 1987 Honda Civic lihgts on instrument panel. New Battery. and replaced blower unit but lights on panel not working. I am yet to install stereo unit which was taken out by previous owner - very roughly ! Wondering if not having stereo will effect instrument panel lights. Cheers Steve

check your connections usualy bad ground, but atart with terminal clamps first. there may also be corrosion buy a battery terminal brush any kind dont matter they are usual .99-$5.00

did you unhook the battery prior to installing the alternator

You have to get the coeds cleared by a garage .
