The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

Sounds like you got some bad gas. I would either try an additive to remove water and some octane boost. If that doesn't work you will need to drain the tank. This has been a real problem with the price of gas going up. Some stations in my area have been shut down for putting water in the gas. If it was running fine before you got gas, then more than likely this is your problem.

SOURCE: my fiat idles but wont rev

That maybe what the rev limiter is set for. That way you can not over rev causing engine damage.

My 1993 olds cutlass supreme idles fine until you step on the gas or when your going down the road at higher speeds than idle it has a hesitation what's the problem?

A flat spot on acceleration could be low fuel pressure or a faulty throttle position sensor. Could also be a vac leak such as a faulty EGR valve.

How do u set the carb on a 86 mazda sl auto

the flat spot and hard starting is caused from a faulty accelrator pump or a blocked discharge jet in the pump circuit i would be putting a kit in the carby to improve mpg

the only adjustments on the carby is idle speed and idle mixture which dont affect cars mpg

2001 daewoo lanos

is the car is idling o.k between 750-850 rpm, before you pull away? if it isn't then check your plugs injectors idle control. if it is but the car move's slowly away and you are using high revs it could be a slipping clutch or if automatic transmission worn bands or torq converter. also check for breaks binding.
