Your welcome :) If your immobiliser is a battery backup than i would reccomend trying to find a manual for the immobiliser off the manufacturers or the internet.

SOURCE: wont start

Hi
Had a similar problem with my x type 2.5 petrol, only had the car 1 day went to start it nothing happend all the lights came up on the dash but the engine wouldn't start and the immobiliser light stayed on. Spoke to Jaguar they had no idea and I couldn't get it to them. After disconnecting the battery trying to reset the immobiliser phoned and auto locksmith they came out and discovered the end of the key with the blade had lost it's coding and the immobiliser was not disarming, they reprogrammed the key and the car started no problem. As far as i know there is no way past the immobiliser. Hope this helps.

most likely the ran it up on the lift and that triggers all these. you should be able to bring it any local garage and they should clear it.

Inertia switch located on the passengers side (under the dash). You may need to remove a small door to get access to it. If you have not been in an accident, then it was probably tripped accidentally. Simply press the button, and it will reset. This should get your car running again. Good Luck!

Alarm keeps ringing all the time

Hi, some jags are fitted with dual alarms, is your alarm sounding through the main horns and flashing the lights? or are you getting a loud beeping noise.
If its beeping then its the Passive alarm system. you need to say what one it is, I am asumming its the original alrm and not aftermarket.

Jag 2001 s type turns over but won't start

Hi there:
You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing... spark / fuel / compression.

All three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.

Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

How to disconnect alarm on s type jag? When trying to start car the alarm starts and kills the engine

if you look under the dash to the left of the brake pedal... you should see your fuse panel... above the there should be a black or gray box w/ two sets of wires coming from it ... both sets of wires have inline fuses... try pulling out either of those fuses one at a time , ie. pull one fuse try to start the car if the alarm still goes off replace that fuse and try the other one... this should disable the alarm on your car.

200 jag stype no start anti-theft light flashing

Have you another key and fob ?

Try lock/unlock cycle with new key + fob. Your key may be corrupted.

Try also just unlocking the car with the key (not the fob) as soon as you unlock the door put the key in the ignition immediately and see if the car starts.

If you have your radio code it may be worth trying a total reset (leave the car unlocked) disconnect the battery and leave for 20 mins. then reconnect, most systems will then reboot and this MAY help?
Failing all the above it looks like dealer time - more ££ss

good luck !

Jaguar S Type V8 Auto 2000 no start

Check all your fuses first as it sounds like you shorted something out, did you turn the jag off before connecting the jump leads, if you did you will be ok but if you did not it is more than likely a fuse.
hope thishelps
