Question about 1995 Volkswagen Jetta

Jetta Warning Light

I have a 95 Jetta. The warning light at the far left of the bar started flashing. It looks something like a thermometer stuck in an ornate (possibly oil) container. What does it mean?

It says that your vehicle is low on coolant.Get the coolant level checked.If low has to be changed.

Your coolant may be low or you may have a pressure leak

i believe this is either a low tire pressure light, or low brake pad light.

Sounds like it could be a mass airflow sensor failure. Take your car do your reputable mechanic and have them scan your computer to find out what the error code is, and then go from there. If it says that the mass airflow sensor is offline, I would look to make sure that the connector is properly secured on the air intake hose.

The warning light looks like a transmission or

MIL (malfuntion Indicator light) or engine light. This means that your car's computer has something to tell you. You can use a code reader to get the info. The slot to plug it in is under the steering wheel. All you need is a cheap one to read/erase codes. You can borrow one from some auto parts stores, like AutoZone. It is simple, and it will tell you what is wrong with your car. It could be anything.

Add Coolant to spherical reservoir at right rear of engine compartment as viewed from front. If it is low the coolant gauge flashing light will warn you of a low condition.

Dunno where you reside but our indoor/outdoor digital thermometer shows a snowflake once the temp drops down to 0C/32F. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that a Jag would have a warning light for freezing temps.
