Headlights don't come on. All running lights and dash lights are ok. Pulling back on column-lever will fire the HIGH beams, but neither lower position (normal/high) of the column-lever will give light to the road. Only the pullback/passing warning gets headlights firing. Checked every relevant fuse in the box. All solid Is it the Headlight Switch in the dash? Or the dimmer/high-column lever switch thingie? Mongo not know. Mongo just pawn in Game of Life. Should I mention that we are pushing 340,000 miles?

I'm not sure about your model, but my 1991 EB Ford has a high-beam relay in the engine bay, near the battery. When you find it, replace it, and I'll bet your lights work then.
SOURCE: 1996 ford ranger headlights not working
I had the same problem 1998 ford ranger. left headlight very dim. right head light worked normal. pull back for high beam flash left dim headlight would go out. put on high beems left light got even more dim. trouble shot wires and replaced blinker/high low beam/whiper unit didn't fix. replaced headlight didn't fix. looked at wireing harnes connecter that conects to headlight bulb and center (black Wire) female contacts was open more than the others. (was making weak contact (ground)
FIX:::: SLIGHTLY BENT BLADE ON HEADLIGHT TO MAKE BETTER CONTACT WITH WIRE CONECTION WITH WIDER FEMALE CONTACT RECPTICAL. HEADLIGHTS BRIGHT AS EVER AGAIN. PS ALSO PUT DIELECTRIC GREASE IN CONTACTOR.
HOPE THIS HELPS
SOURCE: how to repalce a high beam switch
pull dash panel and remove switch hardest part is getting the knob off. you must insert a small screw in the slot to release knobe. if its in the switch on the collum you would have to remove the sterring wheel to replace. haynes and chilton manuels for your car are a good way to learn about it and there only 20 bucks at parts stores. berrydalewolf
SOURCE: headlights will not work on high beam or low beam,
Hi
On this model it will most likely be the switch itself, they always do this you might be able to repair it but either way you stil have to remove it to find out,
Hope this helps
