Hey, just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on changeing the transmission filter for my Nissan Xterra. If not does anyone have a link to a Nissan 'Do it yourself' forum?
Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated
thanks much

The filter is made of metal mesh and doesn't need to be changed...only flushed and refilled with trans. fluid.
You first need to insure that you have a pan under the transmission and then start. Have you got an extra gasket because you will need a new one. Now remove the drain plug and let that completely drain. After that then unscrew all the bolts. remove the old gasket and put the new one on the pan that is not attached to the vehicle. Now put the pan back up and rescrew. after you have done the ensure that you cleaned the drain plug. plug it back up and refill.
