After replacing the battery, battery replacement has to be registered in the power module.Newer bmw's can experience battery draw issues. usually after battery replacment the active steering has to be re-aligned. you can try turning the steering wheel lock to lock to see if that solves your problem (usually only works on older cars) if you can find a shop that has a GT1 (bmw's older diagnostic equipment) they should be able to reset the light. At the same time if the vehicle has a battery draw and the power module is disconnecting the battery when the charge level gets low, that is your root problem and you will end up with an active steering fault over and over

What does the inverted light bulb warning sign mean?

it sounds like you are receiving a check control message for a bulb out.if the message looks like this...

cc95eee.gif usually there is a bulb out. if not,it can also be caused by high resistance (loose connection and corrosion) at a connector or bulb. if you are unable to find a defect, the lamp module stores these faults and they can be read out of the vehicle with the bmw diagnostic equipment.(gt1/isid) my recommendation is if you can't find the issue run the vehicle by your local bmw dealership i.m sure they would be glad to help.

Idle , lever on 'drive'' - vibration

if your vehicle isn't a convertible and the newer model (E90) the idle speed should be able to be increased. your vehicle has valvetronic. It doesn't use a throttle valve in the typical manner. there is a motor that changes the valve lift of the intake valve (this system takes the place of how a typical throttle works); if you have an E46 the older style 3 series the idle speed cannot be changed. An easy way to tell if you have an E46 or an E90 is that you have a start-stop button with the E90 and the key is a remote that pushed into the dash.
