I have 1989 Acura Integra ls. Distributor went bad replaced it along with wires plugs and rotor. Runs really rough. If you pull the #3 cylinder wire off it runs the same pull any other one and it gets worse. HELP. There is spark and I'm lost.

Check to see if the wires correctly. If that is ok then check to see if there inside of the distributor cap is clean and free from debris... spark will take shortest path and fire at the debris instead of the next cylinder in firing order.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi 2.6 L engine only runs on 2 of 4 cylinders

check your valve lash and compression. You can get a cheap compression tester at auto zone.Any thing under 100 psi or a difference of over 30 psi between two cylinders suggests worn parts or improper valve lash.

SOURCE: 1996 Honda Accord Rough Idle Even After tune up

Perform a valve clearance inspection and adjust if necessary. Tight or sticking valves will cause a misfire or rough running concern. Note: Perform valve adjustment when the engine is stone cold. 4cyl: INT 0.26mm EXH: 0.30mm (V6 engine are hydraulic and no adjust necessary.) Also check for a sticking or stuck open EGR valve. For diagnostic purposes only: Remove the EGR valve. Place a business card over the EGR passage and bolt the EGR valve back on. This plugs the EGR ports and if the misfire goes away the EGR valve is partially stuck open and is defective.
Check for low fuel pressure. Check for low compression. Check cam timing. Check for a weak ignition coil. Also don't over look the possibility of worn or broken engine mounts which cause excessive engine movement and engine vibration. -hope this helps

P0305 and p0200 on a 2003 chevy blazer 4.3 , runs really rough

P0305 is a misfire on number 5 cylinder replace spark plugs, wires cap and rotor button. Please note: Does the ac cooling line/hose go over top the distributor ? If so GM/CHEY had a problem when dripping from that AC line/hose dripped down onto the distributor. That caused miss fires after a time. I hope this helps, Lee.

Misfire 4th cylinder

Could be the ignition coil. Also could be a compression problem. Work on the misfire then see if the bad sensor goes away.

My 1991 Acura integra LS is cutting off while driving. it wont start back up unless it sits for 20 mins. if I try before 20 minutes, you will just here it trying to turn over. I've change the fuel filter,...

You'll need to replace the distributor as an assembly, they are a very common problem and sold at any good local parts store fairly cheaply. Remove the cap first to note the position of the rotor. The distributor only goes in one way, but it's easier if you know which way to point the rotor when you install it. It's a good idea to re-time it after the install but if you mark the location of the old one, you can get pretty close if you put the new one in the same spot.

Timing is good. but suburban still runs very rough.. what is it.

Replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Pull the plug wires off one at a time and do not attempt to install everything together. Install the new plug and wire for each cylinder individually before you start on the next cylinder. They have to be in the correct order or the engine will misfire and you will create a mess for yourself. Once that job is complete, then do the cap and rotor. These are words to live by, I promise. I did it the wrong way one time and I will NEVER do it again. Replacing the fuel filter would be a good idea also along with the air filter if needed.

Can i put a 1994 acura integra ls trans to replace a 1989 acura i

I don't think this would be possible wihtout some hassles.

The engine type build changed twice between the 89 and the 94 series integra.

I would suggest you speak to Honda specialised mechanic before you purchase the 94 tranny.

Also check out the Honda forums as they ahve guys who have done some handy things with the ol integra

Doesn't start

To put it simply it's either spark, fuel or compression. If the timing belt is okay (not broken or timing marks don't line up) and you have spark, you need to make sure you have clean gas and not water (from condensation) or air being sprayed out the injector nozzles. Try using quick start spray or even pouring some gas down the trottle body and see if it starts. If it does then check the relays, pump and lines. I've seen pin hole leaks in lines that caused symptoms similar to vapour lock. Check the
Main EFI relay (it's under the dash near the brake pedal) they usually stop working when the car is parked in the hot sun. Sometimes leaving the doors open, or pushing the car into the shade so it can cool down, will get the car to start again. I would get a distributor and a Main EFI relay from a junkyard. Because it's too expensive just swapping in new parts, and it's always a good idea to keep a spare distributor around as they are known to go bad on old Integra's.

Acura Integra is Hesitating when I apply the gas badly!

Cheapest possible solution is the fuel filter. it is a black canister on the firewall with two steel fuel lines going into it. Beyond that, it could be your fuel pump ($100+) or your distributor(200+) . Check all your vacuum hoses for leaks. It will have to be driven by a mechanic to determine the true diagnosis.
