Wondering if it is on a timer or schedule, or if it detects a problem. I got a new battery recently.
Your battery are okay but you may have an
alternator/generator problem, it's not charging back electricity to the
battery. That's the common interpretation
of that battery warning light on the dash...
I have a 97 benz E320. My car is not holding a charge. The alternator and battery are fine. It drains the battery. All of the lights go on on the dashboard and flicker. The alarm horn was even going off while I was driving.

Hi there
BAS is the Brake Assist System and if there is a malfunction it would
only come into play in an Emergency stop while applying full pressure.
BAS applies full braking force because people tend to lighten up their
pressure on the pedal in these situations. I would suggest that the best thing to do is go to a Workshop or Service Center and have it checked out. Please remember to put a good rating on my profile.
Kind regards

or could possible be the alternator over charging
SOURCE: Service Brake message
Hello, You probably have brake pads that are worn down to the sensors. You will need to take it to whomever does your repairs. It could be either the front or rear pads or both.
If you find this info to be correct, please enter a (fixya) rating

This is normally a low voltage from the alternator condition. Hook a voltmeter to the battery and note the reading. Should be 11.6vdc to 12.2vdc. Start the car, after a minute or so it should be around 13 to 14 vdc., if not then the alternator may be bad
