Hei, the most likely is a fault ignition cassette or injector nr 5!? If you have a scope and know how to use it, is easy to see where is the fault!

SOURCE: Check engine & traction control lights on

It might be the water temperature sensor for the brain not reading the right temperature, causes wrong parametres in the warming up periode, and then the diagnostic lamp will show.

SOURCE: Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon 2000 wont restart when warm or after running

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5. I had a similiar problem. The car would always run cold. It would get hot and the engine would quit. It could be anywhere. One mile from start to 50 miles from start. Once it cooled down it would re-start but the cool down time was always different. Only difference for me was my car would crank, just not run. Replaced the crank position sensor ($60), no more problems! Good luck!

'86 honda accord 4 cyl...runs very rough as though missing on 1 cyl ...when removing plug wires 1 at a time each 1 removed makes engine run worse except for #1 cyl which when removed smooths engine out...

no, the plug is firing. But the timing is off. the plug is firing quite a bit before top dead center on that cylinder. The burning of the fuel mixture is occurring while that piston is on its way up and is slowing it down---dragging down the whole engine. i think you should change the distributor cap and rotor as cylinder one is firing at the same time as cylinder 2or 4. This indicates a possible carbon track in the distributor cap.

Bought it a couple months ago with 44k mi. now has 77k mi. started missing, running rough, severity is worse about 40mph. tried putting in a set of plugs, didn't help. noticed #5 plug soaked with fuel,...

First you say #5 doesn't appear to be firing

Then you say the coil pack is okey and you have spark

Also worse about 40 mph but plenty of power
You can't have it both ways

You have an issue with cylinder #5 causing a
drivability problem

I would have thought that you would have checked
for a leaking injector on #5 and a misfire also.

You will have to pick the way you approach this

You really need to current ramp the injector voltage
compared to the others
Switching the injector to another location will be
time consumming and a new one expensive.

Hello. my 2000 4runner v6 has been running rough. when i start it, it runs fine untill it warms up. then it begins to miss. have replaced spark plugs, and battery but didn`t make a difference. diagnostic...

Change your oxygen sensors - they're responsible for feedback that the computer uses to determine the air/fuel mixture. They usually are good for about 60k miles and then start to go downhill. When they get to a point that the computer won't trust them, it ignores them and runs on preprogrammed fuel maps that run excessively rich (too much fuel) to safeguard the engine. You've probably seen a decrease in fuel mileage as well. And the O2 sensors have to be up around 900 degrees before they'll work - the car ignores them until then. That's why you run fine after a cold start but run rough once the car is warmed up.

The O2 sensors you want to change are in the exhaust system between the engine and catalytic converters (the "pre-cat" sensors). There are O2 sensors after the cats as well, but those are used comparatively to determine how well the cats are functioning. The primaries are the ones used for fuel mixture. If it's been this way for a few weeks or so, I'd put new spark plugs in as well - rich fuel conditions can foul them and contribute to the rough running.

Saab 95 2002 3.0l v6 turbo. when warm, starts to

Have you had your mass air meter checked or replaced? This is the unit attached to the air intake hose behind your air filter. It senses the air temperature, speed, density, etc... and adjusts the fuel/air ratio to keep the vehicle running at "peak" performance. Also, check your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) it can also cause the problem you speak of. The TPS adjusts your engine speed/idle etc. and also compensates for hot/cold changes etc. This is roughly a $35.00 part and in most cases usually an easy fix.

Missing, running rough

head gaskets do not "dry out"
running rough indicates injector problems --stale fuel dirty injectors or sticking injectors
run the fault codes to determine fault area
oil around spark plugs indicates that the rocker cover seal under the plug tube is leaking into the plug area

95 volvo 940 running rough

Have you checked compression on non firing cylinders? Likely has blown head gasket between these two cylinders if located side by side.
