Hello.. my 2002 Mercedes benz S320 idles but does not rev at all and has a check engine light on can anyone help please

Sounds as if it is in emergency service mode , if you can obtain or borrow an OBDC II reader ( I thinks it's OBD2 for that model ) it will show you the scan of the engine management diagnostics and give you fault codes corresponding to the faults in your car ( Know as DT's ) look on the Mercedes forums and they will tell you what fault codes mean .

How to set timing on a 1997 chevy blazer and get a diagram of it

sorry but the ignition timing is controlled by the electronic control module, (ecm) however if you have a scanner that can read datastream you can adjust the cam ******.. go to cam ****** on the datastream list , start engine rev to 1200-1500 rpm and check reading should be at 0 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees, if not you adjust at the distributor by rotating the distributor. the adjustment should be made with engine off then restart and rev again to 1200-1500 rpm and check the cam ****** again,by the way if unable to adjust the distributor gear of the distributor itself may be worn out and need replacement, hope this helps.

(this info is for the blazer)

Hesitation at 1500 revs .Engine runs fine and pulls very well after thi rev band.

have the computer checked for a fault with the throttle position sensor(tps)It does not always trigger the check engine light.I am not sure if there is an easily hired or purchase fault code reader for this model. You may have to go to Jaguar centre for this.Throttle bodies should be clean on this model.hope this helps or get back to me with findings.

Check engine light comes on and it goes into limp home mode

connect a vacuum guage to the intake port and,
look for a cracked or, broken vacuum fitting or, line your engine is occasionally getting too much air this causes it to over rev.

Recently paid $1500 for automatic transmission rebuild. Now the engine over-revs when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, particularly when accelerating rapidly

They did something wrong, take it back, this is a serious problem and will damage the forward clutch pack if you let it continue un-repaired, that will mean another $1500
