I have a 2003 Ford E250 cargo can. I had to replace all 4 shocks. Got the all off but in the process, I broke the bottom bolt on the front passenger side. The nut with the washer formed as one has part of the thread still in it. The problem though, is the piece attached to the front arm. The threads broke off inside that piece attached to the arm. I'm not sure if that is pressed or threaded into that frame arm? No threads sticking out of it so soaking it in penetrant and vise gripping it out isn't an option. Tried heating with Oxygen/ Acetylene to no help either. Any ideas on if that whole female thread comes out of the arm and replaceable?

SOURCE: Tie rod ends

You're on the right track. It's going to take breaking up the rust and getting a large wrench to get some leverage and twist it off.

SOURCE: can't get front wheel bearing retaining nut to break loose

Air tools? good heavens. Just get some classic coca cola and wait. She goes loose left handed. But make sure you undo the fixing of the nut first (the way it is secured not to turn loose spontaineously). At some cars there is a split pin, Mazda had those deformable ones which you had to cut partially. (And new ones ready)

SOURCE: broken lug nut on right front wheel

hi,
remove the rotor with the lugs in it - take it to NAPA - they will remove the old one and replace it with a new lug bolt/nut combo for the price of the parts. 28ab2be.jpg

2003 Ford Windstar SE Rear Shock Absorber Replacement... How do I replace the rear shock absorber from my vehicle?

It depends if you have the rear air shocks or not. If not, it's just a single bolt at the top and single bolt at the bottom that holds them on. If it's the air shock, your better off taking it to a shop to have them do the work.

Do I need to replace the front axle damper after installing new starter in my 2001 sport trac?

Hi Pete, If the bolt you refer to is part of the shock absorber you will need to replace the damaged unit. If you replace one we recommend replacing both on the same axle. If however the unit is a McPherson strut type suspension, and the bolt you refer to is that which is mounted onto the shock pad, bolting onto the shock tower it can be replaced with another. It is a special bolt which has a splined shoulder. (The spline is to lock the bolt in place while being tightened) To replace it. knock out the broken piece with a pin punch and insert the replacement. If you need to remove the shock pad from the assembly, you will need to use suspension spring compressor clamps. Hope this info is of help? Regards John

I'm doing front shocks on 1993 ford E250 cargo van and I broke the bottom bolt. Can I brake it off the rest of the way and then drill the bracket through and put a thru bolt or will i have to have a stud...

You can drill it out use a bolt to make a shock mount stud, but make sure the bolt is the correct size for the shock eyelet and you use a lock nut and washers on both sides of the stud you install to replace the old stud, also the new bolt must be a grade 8, anything else will break off very quickly.

How do I replace my front passenger turn signal on my 2003 Ford Escape?

well its a tricky situation, we do not know if this is the best way but we made it work...

1. start the engine and turn the tires to the left all the way, shut off the engine. in front of the front passenger tire there will be 4 phillup head screws. remove all 4 phillup head screws that are attached to the bumper molding, and remove the 10 millimeter hex head bolt that is near the bottom screw. then spread the plastic molding away from the bumber molding which will give you limited access to the blinker bulb assembly. now this is the tight spot. quarter turn counter clickwise and remove the bulb assembly from the lamp fixture. carefully spread the tabs that hold the bulb assembly to the socket. and then replace and remove the bulb and then put it all together again. or you could go and get it fixed. Good luck!

How are the shocks replaced on the e-250

You should have 1 or 2 bolts under the rear end for the rear shocks. Also, the top bolt is above the frame of the rear. For the front, there is 1 bolt above the upper spring mount which you can access with the wheel off. The bottom 2 bolts are under the lower control arm.
