No start condition. no spark, no fuel spray from throttle body. replaced ignition module.

Almost started while cranking once. Am thinking now the pick up coil is defective. Need specs for PU coil resistance. Need specs for fuel pressure.

SOURCE: wont start has fuel and has spark

RC ralston
Your problem is a leak in the cpi pletium most likely the pressure line has a leak
had same problem with mine $45.00 PRESSURE LINE KIT AND $15.00 GASKET FOR PLETIUM and 2 hours labor problem sovled.
You can remove vortec cover and remove air regulator to look inside pletium. I had gas vapor on driver side . that is where fuel lines are. fuel regulator is on passenger side. turn key on and look in hole and see where fuel is spraying. taking pletium off you can again turn key on and make sure where fuel is coming from.

SOURCE: 2002 chevy Blazer hard starting

replace the fuel injectors, that is the likely cause......

to test the injector, take the power clip off the top of the injector, take one wire and ground it to the body of the car, and another form the battery, to the other post on the injector, if you do not hear a pulsing sound coming from the injector it is bad, if you do, then you have a wiring problem.

SOURCE: 82 corvette crossfire injection, engine

Please go to the crossfire injection forum to get some straight answers to the 82 corvette CFI system and how to troubleshoot it properly. There's a lot of misinformation given here, so much so, I don't know where to begin.

One thing is, the 82 corvette CFI does NOT have a MassAir Flow sensor system, it uses MAP and O2 mostly. The CTS sends a signal to the ECM telling it what the temp of the motor is and in turn the ECM controls the amount of fuel being dumped. On the older (orignal) CTS sensors, they have one wire and takes its ground from the threads. If any coorosion takes place, usually the CTS will report a cold engine and request lots of fuel.

To repair this issue, install one of the newer style CTS sensors that have two wires, one for signal and the other is ground.

Fuel pressure and vacuum leaks on any CFI motor play key roles. Set the FP to 14-15psi measured inbetween the TBs. The regulator is located on the rear TB and must be slightly moded to make it adjustable and can be done in a few minutes.

SOURCE: 1995 lumina cranks but will not start

Sounds like it has jumped timing, dont know which engine you have so could be chain or belt.

1996 gmc sierra 5.0l body control module? Have a crank no start condition.

You'll first need to determine whether it's a fuel delivery or ignition problem. The quick way is to remove the air intake at the throttle body and spray a 2 second burst of starter fluid directly into the throttle body and promptly start.

If it fires and runs for a few seconds then it's a no fuel issue. If no fire, then more likely it's a no spark, so pull a plug wire and check for spark.

I haved a 1989 Buick Park Avenue 3.8 engine...I have replaced the starter, coil pack, ignition module, crank sensor and cam sensor and still cannot get it to fire...I really NEED this car to run so PLEASE...

ok ! did you mean its got spark but does not start. if spark but does not start. check to see if its getting fuel to engine. remove air hose from throttle body and spray some starting fluid in throttle body, open throttle plate and spray some in. if car starts then stops, its a fuel problem. if no spark check the harmonic balancer on engine to see if its loose, the 3.8 engine have a crank position sensor that runs off the balancer. the rubber starts wearing out and the balancer start flopping around. and the timing gets massed up. good-day ! type in on pc browser ignition switch symtoms, and a list of things will come up. for a ignition switch controls over 50% of voltage for vehicle. good-day !

1997 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 will not start. Getting spark checked all fuses, changed rotar - spark plug wires,

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Fuel pumps are a common failure item on those trucks. Pick up a cheap fuel pressure gauge and hook it up to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. With the ignition on and you should have 55-65psi. Even if it's a few psi below spec it could stop the engine from firing.Once you determine the fuel pressure isn't adequate make sure you have a good power and ground at the fuel pump. If that checks out, time for a new fuel pump module. I recommend only replacing it with an AC delco unit, I've heard bad stories about aftermarket replacements.
You could also spray some carb cleaner or starting fluid in the throttle body and crank the engine over. If it runs for a few seconds after spraying starting fluid in you know you have a fuel delivery problem.

Throttle body injectors not fiering but there is fuel pressure

the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up

Will crank but will not fire

get a spark tester,if there is spark then there is a fuel problem.put fuel spray into the throttle body and see if it starts and dies out.
then it is the fuel pump perhaps.
there are crank and cam sensors that could be a problem. or the ignition module .best thing is to scan it and see if any codes show to point out the defective system.

1988 gmc k1500 wont start

hi, check the connections at the ecm,i think it's under pass front seat,i've had a couple of those years loose injector signal at ecm connector,if you have a test light you can unplug injectors and test across terminals ,it's a 12v signal at inj ,if lights flash on both while cranking try plugging in one at a time and see if either sprays, if one does and not the other, you would have a shorted injector

1997 Chevy K2500 will not start wet wet under hood.

Sorry in the delay getting back to you.......on....Check for injector pulse.
Look into the throttle body......where the air goes into the engine....in the top, middle of the engine ......you will have to remove the air filter......and look for fuel spray from the injectors...."when the truck stops running on you"....If no spray......you have fuel problem which may lead to the ignition module or dist pick up.
No RPM pulse......no spray.
If spray is present......check for lack of spark which again may lead to the ignition module or dist pick up.
Just carry a spark plug with you and pull a wire...insert plug,,,ground plug and look for spark.
Let me know what you have found.
