SOURCE: Car has little acceleration after driving awhile

Hello julieta_barr: My name is Roger and I will help you. If this happens after the engine warms up and the engine runs fine cold. I would look at the catalytic converter as the problem. When the converter is damaged the engine can run great cold. As the engine warms up a bad converter will close off and choke the exhaust down. Top speed will drop off dramatically. I would also replace the fuel filter as this could cause a problem. The converter can be checked but you need the equipment to do it. Should you have any questions please just ask. I will be glad to answer them for you. Please rate the quality of the answer as this is how we know you received the correct answer. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

SOURCE: Mazda 323 fuel injection1994 accelerator problem

Try changing the fuel filter. If it clogs up the engine won't get the fuel it needs to run at wide throttle openings, the engine will ****** the timing, and you'll lose power. With less throttle the filter can flow well enough for the engine to run properly.

SOURCE: My vehicle stopped dead at

Sounds like you have a fuel issue. It could be a fuel pump cutting in and out. It could be fuel pressure regulator, or an injector not spraying correct. I think it's time to find an honest educated repairman.

SOURCE: 2005 Smart car roadster. The traction control

Hi

If you are getting the TC light flashing when
you are driving sensibly then the fault usually lies with the rear reluctor rings. These have a
tendency to split which gives an incorrect reading and the car believes it is skidding.

Try this website and follow the instructions given (http://www.evilution.co.uk/index.php?id=695)

Hope this helps.

Have an 08 Honda Civic hybrid key broke had a new one made by a locksmith still won't start green key flashings on dash but key opens doors and locks and alarm

Have you had the new key electronically coded to the car? Replacement keys need to be programmed to the car so the vehicles immobiliser recognises it. If it isn't programmed the vehicle electronics will just assume it's an attempt to steal the vehicle and it simply won't start!

I have a 2009 Nissan x-trail 2.5 st-l cvt. there is a light flashing on the dash. It is a picture of a car going down hill. What does it mean?

It means you have a fault in the hill decent electronic
feature, on your vehicle & it needs to be diagnosed,
with the use of a professional scan tool first, then follow
trouble charts to component test & resolve.

Read your owners manual about that feature

On most model Nissans, you get that option as part
of a package & can't get the truck without it

I recently replace the battery in my 2005 Ford Mustang GT. After I installed the new battery the green light for my dealer installed alarm keeps flashing even when I am driving the car. I went to the...

                Hi
                Before Battery Change

                • When was/or when did you notice alarm green light illuminated?

                • When after alarm was disarmed, did green light shine?

First thing to check would be electrical connections starting from the battery.
                1. Follow positive wire lead from battery to fuse box connections. (Should be along driver side frame rail, or near battery.)
                2. Follow wrie harness to Relay Center. (Find Alarm Relay/Fuse)
                3. Also to Power Distribution Center. (upper driver corner engine bay)
Relay Switch and Fuse to Alarm should be okay, given the alarm green light illumination.

The Cars Brain, ECM Engine Control Module, manages messeges between power BattV and Alarm, also other modules and various sensors throughout the vehicle.

When Battery Supply was disconnected, something happened, that stunned the memory in the ECM.

Yes, the alarm does need resetting, its actually the memory messages saved in ECM need to be Refreshed.

(saying "alarm needs resetting") sounds like alarm is broken, when that is not the case. Similar scenario is, when smart phone screen webpage freezes(alarm memory info in ECU). No buttons work, not even power button (Key Fob control). Only way to gain access is to remove battery.

Lets try an experiment, this will be to loose still/saved frozen information, stuck in computer memory.

                How to Reset Vehicle Computer.

                1. Remove Neggative Post connection.
                2. Remove Positive Post connection.
                3. Let vehicle sit over Two Minutes, this time allows capacitors in vehicle Modules (ECM/PCM, TCM), to release any/all stored voltage, also any voltage in Vehicles ground circuit will be released.
                  • (I would typically wait 15 minutes) Capacitors with out constant Voltage input, will disipate rather quickly, depending on capacity size.
                4. With Battery Still Disconnected. Open Driver Car door, and turn Ignition to RUN Position.
                5. Reconnect Positive Post.
                6. Reconnect Negative Post.
                  • IGNITION is in RUN Position, when reconnecting Battery. Driver Door Is Open.

                  7. Turn Ignition to Off.
                  • Notice if alarm green light is illuminated.

                  8. Hit LOCK Button On Driver Door Switch to Reinitialize Alarm.
                  • Be SURE Key Fob not locked in car.

Stalls at low speed when in cruise control

You sould have recieved a "recall" notice in the mail about the cruise control for fire and failure issues. they are adding a fusable link where the cruise control harness connects to the brake master cylinder. if you have not had the recall performed yet you should SERIOUSLY consider getting it done, mainly so it doesnt catch fire, but "could" be the result of the failure you've been experiancing! btw, almost ALL Ford vehicles have been affected with the cruise control recall. hope this helps!
