2001 VW Jetta Leaking Water

I have a 2001 Jetta GL leaking water on the passenger side, seems to be leaking from under the glove box. Thought it may be the heater core bad, but its not leaking anti freeze only rain water after it rains. What could this be? could it be a seal in the moonroof, is there a drain under the hood that could leak? I am stumped.......

ha! I have always lived in the snow, so - no rain! I've never experienced this - - but, now I live in the Fresno area and my 2001 TDI is having rain issues. Finally we're having much needed rain and my passenger side front seat floor is flooded. Thankfully, we just built a garage - so I CAN get in from the rain. What a weird happening! I'd love to know why this is and what to do to prevent this from happening again.

Raining in FRESNO! hurrah!!! I guess I'm happy for my leak..?

Th cowling let in fresh air for the heateer and defroster, Their is a drain in the bottom of the cowling or heater ductwork which allows the water to escape before going into the car. I woudl gues that the drain is stopped up..

The cover to the cabin air filter above the heater core was cracked on my car and letting melted snow drip into the heater box, which then would fog up all the windows in the car. Replacing that plastic cover solved the leak and the fogging issue.

1997 Nissan Sentra when it rains water leaks in on the passenger floor somehow behind the dash Maybe

Don A has an excellent answer, but if you have a sunroof, that is more likely the reason. The pipe runs down between the door pillar and the windshield and there is often a join there which can part. Be careful with compressed air as it can blow joints apart.

My 1998 Crown Victoria had steamed the passenger side windshield, digital thermostat never indicated that the engine was hot, i smell antifreeze, water leaking inside passenger side by glove box and a

It sure sounds like the heater core, especially if you have water leaking inside the cabin. The two heater hoses only go from the engine to the firewall, and do not go into or through the firewall. They connect to the heater core right at the firewall.
Check carefully around the back side of the engine and the heater hoses, though. If a freeze plug is leaking, water will be dripping off the bottom of the engine. If it is leaking before the firewall, that would not be the heater core.

Rain water leaking from under glove box, heater area, is not antifreeqe, iam sure it is rain water

The evaporator drain might be clogged. Get under the truck or open the hood and look for a rubber nipple coming out of the firewall on the passengers side. Try sticking something in this hole to release whatever might be stuck in there, usually leaves or sediment. Be careful, don't go crazy pocking something in there. The evaporator core might be near the drain hole, you don't want to poke a hole in it.

Water is leaking from under glove compartment

water dripping from under the glove box area is usally a sign of water in the heating ducts. water runs down the windshield and goes under the cowel, then instead of draining, it some how enters the air intake for your heating system. Take off your wipers, and remove your cowel, you will be able to see the air intake (on the passangers side) and the reason why the water is being directed into it.

2002 Lancer heat/ac ductwork leaking water.

Sounds like your drain tube for the A/C is clogged up. Get someone to blow it out for you, and you shouldn' t have this problem anymore.

2000 Grand Cherokee Dashboard leak

Maybe. If you have a fixed antenna on that side of the vehicle, the large rubber gromet on the wire leading into the passenger compartment may have come out, allowing lots of rain water to enter the vehicle. Happened on my 94 and flooded the passenger side.
