Mr. Abrahamson, check if the fuel pump is working, when turning the switch on you should hear the fuel pump buzing , if is not check the fuel relay or renew the pump.. If the pump is ok then you should check the fuel filter if is not bloged, and then check if power goes to the injection system. Then you go back for spark. check whether the distributor receive power from coil or not. If coil does not send any then replace the coil. but if it does then go further to the distributor if it gets in and doesnt do output, remove the distributor cap and check if it has any crack or internal damage in the center wher is a carbon and possible worn or broken. If are all ok,check the rotor if is serviceable and not burnt or broken or even more if is turning on crank start. if it doesnt turn, check if the distributor shaft is snapped or broken on the gear part with the camshaft.

try checking the timing...take the valve cover off...remove the rubber cover for your inspection window on the flywheel... line up the white line on your flywheel with the pointer...once your lined up at tdc with the flywheel check your cam sprockets and make sure they are in the right alignment...also take your cap off and look at where your rotor is pointing..making sure it is pointing at #1 cylinder

We have a 1992 hondal prelude that got hit in the drivers side door. After that it lost power. I t doesn't have any spark or fuel.

try replacing the main relay. location is under the steering column usually bolted down with a single bolt. this relay controls spark and fuel.

Camry or Prelude for mechanic school?

I would be a bit leary of the Prelude, if it's loosing anti-freeze. Could be a blown head gasket or an anti freeze leak. Honda's are generally great cars for traveling and there alot of aftermarket performance parts for Preludes. Definately investigate the use of anti-freeze.

Not getting power to fuel pump

You won't get any voltage to the fuel pump, until you "crank" the engine. It picks up a signal from the distributor which then talks to the ECM telling the car to turn the fuel pump on. The main relay is bad about going out on Honda's but they usually cool down and work, until you shut the car off. I'm leaning more towards a bad distributor.

1985 honda prelude will not start

Sounds like a bad starter or teeth missing of the flexplate or flywheel. Is it a stickshift? Can you push start it?

How to drain a gas tank in a 95 honda prelude

I woulldn't worry about that fuel too much. Let me know if you have done anything to the motor, i.e., cleaned the spark plugs, checked the oil, water/radiator fluid level...corrosion on the battery. What does it sound like when you try to start it?

They make products to add to the gas...fuel stabilizer for example.
