Truck was running fine until a door was left open and dome light drained the battery. Jump started truck but it was running very rough and kept stalling. I replaced fuel filter and truck seemed to run fine. Next day same problem, rough starting, won't idle, and stalls. I checked pcv for vacuum and it seems to be fine. Any advice?
Thanks,
Al D.
Check the voltage of battery with voltmeter.. It is sometimes possible that if voltage of battery drops and jump start is needed, your computer will only charge to the last voltage that was recognized which would be when jumped...Try and charge the battery if possible I would actually suggest that you have your battery tested at local auto parts store and if it is presumed in good condition ,let them charge for you to max capacity . If battery has been tested and labeled as no good replace if necessary... Oh, and first thing you should do is make sure your positive and negative battery connections are clean and tight...if this didnt fix problem please give more info on what was found when advice above was followed...Good Luck!!!!

The throttle body needs cleaning. It has some carbon build up, and when the battery went dead the computer lost its learned values, one of which is base throttle position. Now its reset back to factory specs, not accounting for a dirty throttle body. Seen it a million times

Thank you for your advice. I took the truck to the auto parts store and had them check the battery. The battery was o.k. but the alternator is shot and not charging the battery. I purchased a new alternator and battery and will install it when it comes in. I hope it solves my problem.
Thanks!
I just changed out my original 2002 Tundra truck battery that was still working fine to a new Delco brand battery and when I went to drive the truck the next day it would always stall. Is there a re-learning period on the computer or does the dealer have to install a program for lost idle memory?
Thanks,Tom.
Same problem here. 2002 tundra (it's 7 years old, 65k miles). battery terminals were nasty dirty so I disconnected and cleaned them. Reconnected, and then truck would start fine but idles at about 100rpm then stalls. Left terminals disconnected for an hour, still won't run.
