SOURCE: Adjust rear brakes 1995 Nissan Pathfinder 4WD

if they are disk brakes, they are not adjustable. if they are drums they should auto adjust. if they are not, then there is a problem that you have to pull the tire, then the drum, to diagnose it. you may have to disassemble the brake shoes and springs, and clean and lube the self adjusters

SOURCE: hand brake nissan pathfinder

If you lift the hand brake you should find an adjustment nut (I think it is 10MM). Tighten that and you should be good to go. Be careful, it doesn't take much to adjust - turn gradually/slowly.

i hope i was able to help you with your problem! tc!

I have a 87 5 speed pathfinder and the gears started to go on the transmission . now the transmision wont go into any gear.

Hi Robert,I have 85 Nissan 4x4,know these Nissan's very well, you stated your clutch fluid in reservoir was empty, which means your clutch slave cylinder is bad and leaking. It's located on the side of transmission with 2 bolts holding it on,may have fluid on it,they use brake fluid. Here's a guide on how to replace, here's the part, very easy to replace. You can fill up with fluid and bleed to get you where you need to go,will hold up temporary, best to get a bleeder kit at Autozone to bleed.

I have having trouble disconnecting the brake light switch from wire harness on my Nissan Pathfinder 2001

Does it say 'emergency brake' or just 'brake'? If it just says brake, you could be low on brake fluid on your 2001 Nissan Xterra.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clutch hydraulics

Hi Tim,got a 85 Nissan 4x4,your problem could be your clutch slave cylinder is bad and not holding pressure, check your clutch master cylinder, problaly about empty, here's a link to the bad part,it's easy to replace,it's bolted on side of transmission with 2 bolts, check and see if fluid is leaking. You will have to bleed after you install,az. has bleeder kits.To bleed, best to have someone pump clutch pedal a few times and hold to floor, get bleeder tube with connection and install on blleeder screw, add brake fluid to bleeder container and stick higher up than bleeder screw and open to let air out,do this until no air comes out, don't let clutch master to get low, keep full.

Is bleed my brake on a 1999 pathfinder systematic?

Yes.There is a system that you need to follow, rule of thumb on a conventional brake system even if this is abs. you want to be farthest way from the brake master cylinder that where you start.top of the brake master cylinder with brake fluid go to the furthest brake cylinder that will be the rear right.have someone pump three times and hold open the wheel cylinder as they are holding fluid will come out they will keep it the pedal to the floor till you close the wheel cylinder and repeat two more time this you will do working you way up to the closest wheel cylinder

My nissan navara d22 2001 model has spongy brake pedel, after changing brake shoes, didnt open any brake lines

Any time you install new pads,
it is a must that you have the rotors machined.

You need to flush the brake fluid evey two years,
unless you like a lot of moisture in the system
and other problems that will come in time.

New pads always feel a little spongy for a week or so

Replacing fluids 0n 1996 300zx

radiator antifreeze: open drain **** on radiator and drain refill with water re plug and leave radiator cap off. start vehicle. watch when coolant drops or rises drastically as that is the thermostat opening. at that time re open drain **** and fill radiator with hose water at the same time. when water coming out is completely clear again turn vehicle off and drain radiator again. fill with antifreeze and water mix. 50/50

oil: jack up car, find oil plug, directly behind steering rack on oil pan. undo plug and drain oil into container. while oil is draining remove oil filter. wait for oil to drain completely then re-install drain plug and new oil filter(filled with oil) undo oil cap and pour in oil 4.5 quarts on n/a and 5 for turbo. tighten cap and your done.

brake system: dont attempt, use an experienced mechanic as the lines need to be bled in numerous places including inside the car from the abs module mounted behind the passenger seat.
easy brake system: individually bleed brakes while adding fluid until clear fluid comes out. (not efficient)

a/c: do not attempt unless you have an evac pump for ac systems.

clutch: same as easy brake except using the bleed valves at the slave cylinder and on passenger side fender well.

washer fluid: add fluid and squirt a little to make sure there is no air in the line

Bleeding abs brakes

Try using a pressure bleeder. It will force the air out. Works every time.
