Question about 2001 Toyota Echo
I have a problem with a toyota echo 2001the drivers side head light does not work i found a blown fuse replaced that but still nothing the head lamp is still good ive tryd to tighten\clean the terminals to the head lamp and still nothing i know that there is no fuse on the inside of the car that goes to the lamps
Hi im pretty sure there was a recall on that model at toyota please contact your local toyota service to check if your recall was done.

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

It simply means there might be an issue you need to resolve but not necessarily a problem.
Take it for a scan is the best advice but you could also remove your battery terminal for 5 minutes and replace back.

In the car trunk, there may be a electrical relay box behind the panel on the left side. It is usually no bigger than 4 inches by 4 inches and yellow in color. This is present in 1987-1991 Toyota Camrys and is generally not in most repair manuals. This yellow electrical relay box may have burnt out. Best place to pick one up at an inexpensive price is at the car wrecking or salvage yard. It is very expensive at the dealer. It is easy to replace with no special tools required. I have done this on my 1991 Camry,

Disconnect your negative battery cable for about 10min. After you re-connect, the stereo should reset itself and start functioning. Best of luck!

Check your owner's manual if you have one. It will tell you the locations of your fuse boxes.
On my '03 corolla, there is a small enclosed one to the left of my steering wheel, under the dash. Maybe yours is in the same location. hope this helps...
