PCV valve is located under the intake manifold on the non-hybrid 2.5L engine. The intake manifold MUST be removed in order to service the PCV valve.

Here are the firing order diagrams for those engines and I hope that they will help you solve the problem that you are having. For some reason Ford has listed the same firing order for both engines starting in 1995.
depending on the engine. most likely either the center of the lower intake manifold at the back(5.0) or right hand valve cover at the back(5.8) remove the doghouse(engine cover under the dash) should be visible
I will assume you you have the Duratec engine (24 valve). It is located under the intake manifold on the transmission side of the engine. Real tough to get out without some real long pliers with a ring type end on it. It needs to be twisted counterclockwise to release it. replace the hose to it while you are there also , they degrade and will cause a vacuum leak.
a right angle pipe coming out from the top of the valve cover with a rubber hose attached. if you it out, shank it! it should sound like a mabble inside of it.
