Window lift mech broken.I bought new complete unit but cant get door panel off. 1995 merc grand marquis

There are 4 phillips screws holding the panel to the door. you will also need a flat head screw driver to remove the panel that houses the window switches.the first two screws are located at the end of the handle. remove both cover fittings and remove the screws. next take the flat head and remove the window switch panel there you will find the third screw. last check the bottomed around the edges for the last screw

1997 mercury grand Marquis driverside rear window motor works but window won't go up. Inner door panel off. Metal cable with a black foam cover and pink plastic clip off. Can't figure what it fits to.
usually this means you need a new window regulator.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION Window Regulator, Power Front Door
Removal
  1. If front door window glass (21410) is in the down position and is inoperable, the following steps must be taken; if front door window glass is operational, go to Step 2.
    1. Remove front door trim panel (23942) and front door trim shield (237A04). Refer to Section 01-05 .
    2. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301). Refer to Section 14-01 .
    3. Disconnect window regulator electric drive harness connector.
    4. sva~us~en~file=ani_caut.gif~gen~ref.gif CAUTION: Be careful not to strike or scratch front door window glass because it can break.
      Remove window regulator electric drive retaining screws through holes.
    5. Remove window regulator electric drive (23394) from front door power window regulator.
    6. Raise front door window glass to full up position by hand and secure with tape.
    7. Go to Step 5.

  2. Remove front door trim panel and front door trim shield. Refer to Section 01-05 .
  3. Remove front door window glass as described.
  4. Disconnect window regulator electric drive harness connector.
  5. NOTE: Use care not to enlarge sheet metal holes in the door inner panel.

    Remove two 1/4-inch rivets retaining lower bracket of front door power window regulator to inner panel. Use drift punch to knock out center pins for each rivet. Using a 1/4-inch diameter drill, drill out remainder of rivet.
  6. Remove three window regulator electric drive retaining screws from inside door to remove window regulator electric drive from front door power window regulator.
  7. Remove two window regulator retaining nuts.
  8. Remove front door power window regulator from front door (20124).
Installation
  1. Lubricate regulator mechanism with Teflon® Lubricant E7FZ-19590-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESB-M1C111-A.
  1. Install front door power window regulator minus motor (23208) into access hole in inner panel.
  1. Position front door power window regulator using upper studs and tabs on window regulator electric drive mounting bracket.
  1. Install rivets retaining front door power window regulator to door inner panel (1/4-20 x 1/2 inch screw and 1/4-20 nut and washer assemblies or equivalent metric fasteners may be used).
  1. Install two upper front door power window regulator retaining nuts.
  1. Install window regulator electric drive with three screws. Do not overtighten screws.
  1. Connect the window regulator electric drive harness connector.
  1. Install front door window glass.
  1. Adjust front door window glass as described.
  1. Install front door trim shield and front door trim panel. Refer to Section 01-05 snorkelbobby_38.gif

ther is a plastic guard with 3 locking caps that need to be turned clockwise a quarter turn to remove. remove from the front. you will then have be able to see and have access to the lights and adjustment screws

Driver door window not working, how do I remove panel for access?
can you see behind the panel at all? there should be clips that pull out to release the panel. did you see screws by the door handle and arm rest? they both have them to be removed to get the panel off. sometimes you have to remove window controls to see the screws for the armrest. hope this helps and good luck

take the door card off see if ther is power to the window motor wen u press the switch, if not my be the switch , if the is window cud be stuck or motor my have had it good luck .

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. You can then remove the bolts securing the mirror onto the door

Remove all screws to door panel. Remove the lock and window controls. Then take large flat-tip screwdriver and gently pry directly next to plastic studs holding panel on to door. Lift door panel off. Remove plastic out of the way. You will now have access to window motor. You may have to solder off old wiring. Or if you have enough to cut, would be good

Replacing outside passengerside mirror 2003 grand marquis merc
remove the triangular panel. (It will be easiest to remove the entire door panel). Disengage the male&female to the power/function plug. Remove 2-3 nuts holding housing in place. Save gasket. Install reverse of removal.
