Van has sat for long time. drained gas out changed fuel filter changed plugs and put good gas in it with heat and sea foam. van ran good for couple days now doing samething. changed filter again ran ok for 1 day now doing it again. changed fiter checked plugs and no help. what should i do
You need to open up the throttle body and clean out the jets. if been stud for awhile you get a fuel build up as it evaporates, turns into like a dust this blocks the jets. as it gets sticky from new fuel. every time you drop the fuel pressure you are making it sick back down. then driving you are pulling it back up.

Did you check your fuel pump to see if it is functioning right or not .

Sounds alot like the ignition sensor. In my old Chevys it was under the dist cap, mounted on the dist itself. Mine was flat, slightly curved rectangle shape, with two flat prongs coming out both sides. If it would get an internal break in it, you cant see it. I would have the same problem as you, part was only about $12. And comes out with unscrewing two screws.
Might want to give it a shot.

You have to get a pressure check to make sure the right pressure is pushing gas to the motor, and check for any leaks where air might be pulled into the line, which would cause a stuttering engine.

Theres 2 pumps one in the tank, lift pump, and one in the chassis rail under the driver side. The one in the tank is cheap, the one in the rail is not. The one in the tank only produces low pressure to prime the main pump and if it is broken, may not cause that much of an issue except when starting. the one in the rail is a no-start if it fails. The idea is that the rail pump can supply high pressure for the injectors, so a fuel pressure test at the injector rail will determine which pump is playing up. Hope that helps Tim

I had the exact same problem with my 94 Ford E-150 Econoline V6. It's the ignition module on the side of your distributor. Replace it and all will be well. Should cost you about $175.00 parts and labor if you have it done professionally. Let me know if this helps! Johnny [email protected]
