I was trying to replace the shifter indicator cover on the center console and removed the overdrive switch from the handle. I had to take apart the switch which had two springs. I don't think the tiny spring went back in properly because when I press the button the over drive engages but the switch does not keep it engaged. I was thinking about just bypassing the switch and leaving it active all the time. Will this cause any future problems?

your transfer case is not working properly, try this trick, shift into 4wd and gently back up the car and go forward and back up again wait for the indicator light to come back again, goodluck, otherwise you need to have those transfer case checked and maintained, have those front hubs checked and maintained too. Its would be better to use your 4WD more often. Try this trick not on a paved road pls.

pop off the cap on your clutch reservoir, if it's empty fill it up, leave the cap off, and then pump the clutch 20 times to try to get air out, that should work.

As I understand it, since it only works on "hi" you need a blower motor resistor. It is under the glove compartment and it is removed with 2 screws. It will be about $30.00 at the dealership. I don't know about the shifter.

Hello, and welcome to FixYa. Let us try to help.
Yes, you read correctly; if the refrigerant charge is low,or the refrigerant has leaked out, the AC compressor will not activate. Pressure switches built into the system inturupt the power to the AC clutch if there is insufficient system pressure.
I would suggest taking the vehicle to a qualified garage, and have the service tech there hook his set of 'AC Gauges" to the car. After he does that, he can tell you if you need a partial charge, of if you system is empty. I would def recommend the car be checked with the AC gauges; as adding refrigerant to the system without knowing how much is currently in it can damage the compressor.
