I suggest changing it every 60,000 miles.

first answer is the easiest to answer
brake pad comes in 3 compositions
hard for extreme brake work --taxi applications
intermediate --for every day drivers and conservative brake applications
soft for high speed stops and braking as in race cars
The dust generated is in direct ratio to your driving habits and brake applications at 60,000 miles it should not be necessary to replace chains but tensioner and wear pads may need adjustment
get reputable brake professional shops to do the brakes as there may e a need to machine the disc rotors before fitting new pads
That makes quoting from here difficult to do as an inspection is required first
Find accredited service shops with experience on BMW cars and get service quotes but I would expect the account to be around $1000.00 aud for the service as it is a big service and should include all fluid changes , Brakes , transmission , diff , coolant, power steering
suspension checks , fault code readings , possible plugs and leads
It will all be in the service schedule book

Do it at 60,000 miles, it is cheaper than a damaged engine-Volvo had different recommendations:
All models - 1999MY: Replacement of timing belt and tensioner every 80,000 miles or 8 years.
1,6/1,8/2,0 - 2000-01MY: Replacement of timing belt and tensioner at the following intervals:
90,000 miles/8 years.
186,000 miles/16 years.
1,9T/2,0T - 2000MY: Replacement of timing belt and tensioner at the following intervals:
66,000 miles/6 years.
138,000 miles/12 years.
210,000 miles/18 years.
2,0T - 2001MY: Replacement of timing belt and tensioner at the following intervals:
90,000 miles/8 years.
186,000 miles/16 years.
All models - 2002MY : Replacement of timing belt and tensioner every 96,000 miles or 8 years.
The previous use and service history of the vehicle must always be taken into account.

look at mileage. the replacement of the timing belt needs to be done at 60,000 miles. you risk severe damage if this is not done. these belts costs around $300-400 to do.

If the transmission isn't giving you any trouble, it's probably a reminder that it's time to change the oil and filter. Check in your service manual but most manufacturer's look to have it done around the 60,000 mile range. You should be able to do it yourself but a transmission shop would be able to see potential problems at that time and maybe be able to make a simple fix that could save you money down the road. well its always recommended every 3000 miles to change the oil if you are using mobil1 full synthetic oil then every 5000 miles transmission i recommend every 45000 miles 60000 mile should be radiator fluid,power steering,fuel filter if trans hasnt been done then transmission

Tune ups - every 30,000 miles
radiator flush - every 10,000 miles.(varies from climate to climate)
trans fluid change - every 9,000 miles.

tune at 100,000 miles, filters at 30,000, tranny service is 60,000 and 30,000 for heavy use, like towing.
