My 1999 acura 3.2l tl is having transmission problems. It seems as if it is slipping really bad. But not all the time. Its kind of like when it gets hot that the problem worsens or continues. Sometimes to the point that it almost will not shift into gear at all until I either turn it off or stop completely and put into park until get back to 1st. Then when accelerating slips real bad until gets past a certain speed. Sometimes manually shifting works, most of the time slips. When I say slips I mean push on gas engine just revs and finally jerks violently into that gear {stays in gear at least for a second before coming out and engine revs again} dashboard light for what gear the car is in flashes and check engine light is on. What do I do. And what is it

could be a dirty filter or fluid might try changing filter and having tranny flushed did this w a 96 windstar only just replaced fluid that drained when changing filter dont forget to clean the magnet area on the pan

you should go to a transmission guy they have computers that will find the problem and i think that its free... but i think that your transmission needs to be rebuilt, theres a lot that can go wrong with them things

Most Ford Taurus wagons have a transmission that generally goes first. that's the main reason. Just something to do with the way they are built. The only advice that I could offer is either replace the tranny or just not run the a/c. Usually it's just the motor working twice as hard running the a/c and that in turn puts the computer into the phase of lower gears for the transmission. there in being the problem.

Sounds like a transmission problem. It could be just electrical, but sounds like it may be partially internal with the reverse problem you are having. You need to take it to a trans shop, or the dealer.

thottle positioning sensor? if trans has overdrive could be a lock up piece, dont remember name of it. there is a lucas oil product that might help. if it is the overdrive.
