Battery died, charged it in the house over night, and worked fine, then the clock radio stayed illuminated even when the car was off, it never turns off, didn't drive the car for one day, now the battery is dead again... took dash off to get a better look at the radio, did not touch the radio or anything as a new beeping sound started, it is a very fast and constant beep, that stops if you turn the lights on, or shut the door, the radio no longer works.

your radio is staying on? you have a bad door switch.the bcm does not see door opening and thus does not turn radio off. most likely the drivers door.

you have a parasitic load(the device will stay on when car is off drains battery), take the negaitve battery cable off when you turn the car off will fix the problem temporarily, you have to take it into a qualified electrical mechanic and he can fix it for you.

your battery isnt holding enough charge to crank the starter.thats what the clicking is. try charging you battery for a good 8-10 hours, if it still does the same thing you'll need a new battery.

We are wondering if the new beep may be from the theft prevention, we did notice that... After we got the car back from a mechanic (he replaced the odometer, he said he set off the anti theft while doing so), that if we used the remote car starter the theft prevention icon/light would come on while driving, so then we would pull over, shut the car off and restart, and it would be fine... So we are thinking that this new fast and constant beep may be the theft prevention?? Any takers? =)
