Could be the fuel pump or the pump relay or the filter, or an ignition problem.
Someone will have to determine if it is in fact fuel or spark related when it is running rough.

SOURCE: Car is running fine then

I had the same problem, but only when it rained. There was a crack in the ignition coil unit and the water was creating an arc. When I drove long enough to heat the engine and evaporate the water it would run fine. Strangely, though, I still had to stop and restart the engine. $150 bucks the replace the ignition coil, and now no problems (at least with that)

the fuel pump could actually be malfunctioning. and the reason that you are able to restart and drive again is because when you turn the key on it is allowing the fuel pump to pressureize your system. but while the fuel pump is continuasly running it is loosing the fuel pressure. this is common on the cheap fuel pumps. i am not sure about were you got the fuel pump from but in all of my experiances with this problem i find that the fuel pumps have been boughten at a napa store.
i hope this helps you out.
and you could attach a fuel pressure gauge on to the fuel rail and start the car and watch the pressure to see if it is droping.

If you suspect its a fuel problem best to do a fuel pressure test, you can rent a tester at auto zone and do it yourself. They also can show you how to use it and what pressure it should be. Also if you turn the key to on position you should hear a hum from the gas tank and then a click that is the pump running and the click is the relay, if you don't then the pump isent running, also chk. the fuse and relay, it could be as simple as a blowen fuse or a bad relay.

Just bought a 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE Limited 85000 miles, think the seller has rolled back the mileages, checked the compression all across equal 120psi. Please advise. Thanks

dealers work out average usage at so many miles a month to check if the speedo has been tampered with
a 12 year old car would have 149129 miles on the clock so to be generous 100000 miles or if used as a sales car 200000 miles is the ball park figure
the figure of 85000 miles equals 7000 a year well be,ow the 12000 the average car owner would put on the clock
the compression pressure should be about 40 psi higher to be a good motor
not much you can do about the speedo without proof but if it runs well and is in good condition, save your money until it starts to fade and put in a fully reconditioned exchange engine

I have a 1996 98 regency oldsmobile and it cut off then it started right up what could it be

Possible faulty crank sensor or idle speed controller, fuel pump relay, or ignition module. Get a data scan and see what's sensor might out of range or defective. Check for clogged fuel filter also.

Shuts off while driving

The fuel pump gets power from the pump relay on startup, then from the oil pressure switch when the engine is running. You could try a jumper to the relay to bypass the pressure switch to confirm the problem. The design is to prevent a fire in a wreck.

Di I needRadiator hose replacement at 85000 miles? Shocks also?

as far as i know there is no scheduled replacement plan for radiator hoses or shocks.
if the hoses are still firm with no signs of perishing or damage or leaks, then there should be no real need to replace them. same with the shocks. if they work with no leaks, why replace them.

if you think there is a problem with them, or if you want to replace them for your own peace of mind, them fair enough, but i do not think they need to be replaced due to mileage alone

I have an 89 Olds 98 Regency. The fuel pump comes on with the key then shuts off less than a second later. Does the fuel pump need to be replaced or is there a relay module that could possibly be the...

The fuel pump will come on then, shut off when the key is placed in the ON position, this is normal. What is not normal, is when the key is turned to start the engine, and the fuel pump does not run when the engine is running at the same time. The initial power up you hear is a prime function that all vehicles have.
