I can see traces of antifreeze in that area where it is hissing but it is hard to see. What could be leaking in that area?

Could be leaking at the top radiator hose going to thermostat, that is a hard spot to see leak remove the air filter and air filter housing look below throttle body you see thermostat housing, check for leaks around thermostat housing gasket and check for leak at the top radiator hose going to radiator and thermostat.if all is good check all radiator hoses for leaks check small coolant lines going to throttle body for leaks and check make sure bleeder screw on thermostat housing not loose it will leak also check around radiator and water pump heater bypass metal lines for leaks.

SOURCE: malibu is overheating and i cant keep adding anti-freeze daily!!!

No heat is probably a result of low coolant, which basically starves heater core when necessary to feed rest of engine when coolant too low, or an airlock. I really think it's time you took it to a rad shop or similar & had a pressure test done on system & a proper diagnosis. Delaying it will only cost you more, like a whole new engine.

replace the power brake booster. there is a rubber boot inside the booster that has a hole , and when you depress the brake it opens the hole.

it could but- check passenger side front where heater core line go into manifold right behind alternator the hose line is connected by a press clip into an alloy fitting this fitting gets eaten away by anti freeze and hose angle pulls back on fitting the part is $18 at dealer and is screwed into manifold use caution if ur r going to replace at very edge of aluminum manifold---and check ur water pump bolts the 2 longer ones should have a lock sealant on them they bolt in thru a water jacket

SOURCE: Anti-freeze leaking from either the freeze plug or

Without knowing what year or engine size is, I/m just guessing??????? But the 3.1L engines are FAMOUS for intake maniflod gaskets leaking. Look where the intake bolts to the heads. A freeze plug is in the block. Freeze plugs dont leak unless you have been running pure water or weak/cheap anti-freeze. They will rust out from behind and its BIG BUCKS to replace them all.

4 cyl., 5 speed. Why is it leaking somewhere under the frame - not transmission fluid

Smell the fluid. If it smells like gasoline you have a gas leak. If it smells like antifreeze you could have a hose or a anti freeze cooler line leaking. Or could be a water pump leaking and running along the frame under the car. Get a flash light and crawl under neath the vehicle and see where the fluid is coming from.

93 ford ranger 4.0 4x4 manual tranny. has absolutely no horsepower. Loud hissing from tranny area on passenger side, can't find any misplaced vaccum lines.

Sure sounds like you described a major vacuum leak. When I cant find them, I spray Carb cleaner in the area of the hiss with engine idling, if RPM increases some you have a leak, if engine dies you have a bad leak.Since I dont know if your engine is carbureted or fuel injected, not much else I can suggest.

Neon green fluid leaked under car

Possible fluorescent dye injected into the coolant, engine oil or a/c system to trace a leak.

or....... antifreeze.

Dab a little on your tongue , if it tastes sweet it is antifreeze..(.a little drop on your tongue wont hurt you.)

If so..possible coolant pump leak.

Antifreeze leaking from the front of the car , by where the wheels are. Why is this happening?

Had same recent problem. Leaking anti-freeze near passenger-side under engine. Inspect all hose connections and area around water pump and did not find source of leak. Took car to dealer and they checked and told me it was leaking from timing cover gasket and head gasket. I found the head gasket hard to believe so I went to a trusted mechanic and he did a dye test that found the leak was in fact the timing cover gasket.

No heat , antifreez leak not visable...

A car this new should have a warranty right? the only other place for anti-freeze to go is through a blown headgasket into your oil. Pull out your oil dipstick and make sure it is not milky in color. If not check behind the engine and see if any coolant lines going into the firewall are leaking. When inside the car do you smell steaming coolant(anti-freeze) or hear gurgling? The temp gauge that stays on is the overheat indicator?

Hmm sounds like you might have a leak into the cooling system such as a seeping head gasket.

Have a local garage do a leak test, and if they have the tools a coolant dye test, which will test for combustion gases in the cooling system.
