It could be the alternator . measure the output voltage across the battery with the engine running and car in neutral with hand brake on. It should at least 13.4 volts.
If it does then I would get the battery checked at a car battery place.
A car battery place could also check your alternator.

If you are stranded at the lights suggest calling a mobile car battery replacement person or a road assist company if you are a member of one.

They can jumper a temporary mobile battery across your battery to get car out of traffic stream !

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

If you still have this vehicle, this car has a intermittent connection problem in the harness, or at the connections going into the firewall, the reason you're light go up and down is that it is making connection and dropping it, this will be a hard one to repair, as the TECH has to isolate the particular wire that is arcing itself on and off , if this vehicle is not had any collision problems this will help isolating it, the problem with electrical problems is that the repairman is on actual time, he punches on the time clock till repaired, if the reapir is situated to a particular part you may bring CHRYSLER IN TO IT AND THEY MAY PAY SOME OF THE CHARGES, ESP IF THERREIS A SERVICE BULLETIN ON IT, THAT'S ALL I KNOW SORRY, I AM A RETIRED MASTER ASE MECH, THIS IS WHAT I WOULD DO

sounds like you have a grounding issue possibly a main grounding location. inconsistant grounding of the vehicles control module will cause erratic behaviours. check under the hood for ground locations containing multiple grounds at 1 bolt location.if different "experts" have attempted repair and failed chances are they are all looking in the wrong place.dash{interior of vehicle}..actual cause.{egine compartment or under side of locations.}good luck and safe motoring:>

Battery light on ! alternator isn't charging . Test the alternator electrical circuits .Main cable on the back of the alt. should have B+ voltage .Pin # 3 at the connector on the alt. should have B + voltage - fuse F10 10amp under hood fuse box supply's B+ to pin #3 . Pin's 1 & 2 at the connector go to the PCM - engine computer . This is a computer controlled charging system .

While driving, all warning lights on dash suddenly were lit. When I stopped the car, it wouldn't start again and sounded as though the battery was dead.

Probably the alternator died, then used up all the power in your battery to keep the car running.
Have your alternator tested and maybe replaced. The battery needs tested also.

Hope this helps
