My benz won't stay running unless I hold the gas down constantly

Sounds like a fuel pressure issue check fuel filter lines& linkage

    thanks! I'll have that checked. it runs fine, it just that when I stop for a light, when I step back on the gas it bogs down & tries to stall.unless I hold 1 foot on the gas.

2003 Dodge Durango (5.9L V8) won't stay running unless you keep your foot on the gas.

Check temp sensor and TPS, throttle positioning sensor.The power control module,"pcm.is a possible thought.Just check all connections. It is always a good idea to spray WD 40 or equivalent in the connections.

Make sure it's getting fuel. Try using some ether or starting fluid. If it rumbles to life but doesn't stay running then there's a problem with the fuel delivery system. i.e.... Fuel pump, clogged filter, pressure regulator.... If the ether doesn't change the results you are getting now then it's a fire or sensor problem. Ignition coil, relays, sensors not signaling, PCM... I wish you luck. Let us know how it turns out

all code readers will retrieve information stored while in the on position --doesnt need to be running ---when you rehook up scanner either resubmit or edit request with codes

A few different things could be going on here. Some things to check: possible vacuum leak, TPS (throttle position sensor), IAC (idle air control valve). I would check these first. Is the ck engine light on? If it is, take it to your local O'Rielly's or Auto Zone, they will scan it for free. Hope this helps, TJ

2000 Ford Crown Victoria

when you hold the accelerator does the vehicle stay running? if so the problem is in ithe IAC idle air control motor, take a small screw driver and using the handle tap the iac motor and usualy the motor will kick in and the vehicle will run fine then if the problem is rectified replace the IAC
