Re: can't get the rear rotor of 07 Ford Sport Trac
Keith pasden is correct although I might say 'beating' with a sledge. Also put it in Neutral SAFELY jacked and chocked so you can spin the rotor while you do it.

That usually causes a whole heap of troubles because the amp and radio are connected to the BCM and are part of the computer system. Things like turn signal clickers and door open chimes are actually part of the radio / amp system.
Please be more specific here -by rotor what are you refering too ,is this vehicle a rear drum brake or a drum brake inside a brake disk ,Sorry here but this is a international website and some of us use the queens english.Abeit it with a cockney accent loike geezer noiw waat i meeeen
most likely the parking brakes are falling apart inside the drum if a lot of hits with a big hammer don't break them loose you can cut the heads off the anchor pins on the back side of the backing plate to remove the whole assembly and then most people don't put them back on.good luck!
If you have rear rotors that look like a rotor mounted on top of a drum brake, you will have an emergency brake inside the drum portion. The rear brake rotors are not flat like the front rotors for this style.
The E brakes have brake shoes and they have "Star" wheels for adjustment just like the regular drum brake. You really need to take off the rear rotors to inspect the inner drum portion. If you do adjust the E brakes without looking at the drum part, chances are the drum is pitted and rusty and you will be lucky to stop once before the E brake linings are ground off.
The other type of E brake works off the Rotor pads. You will see the brake cable attached to a lever on each wheel. There will be an Equalizing cable connecting both rear wheels with an adjustment point joining the main cable. Although the 3 clicks moves the main cable, to have both rear brakes equally tight you need the Equalizing properly adjusted.
The rotor is not bolted on , the lugnuts from the wheel / tire holds the rotor in place. Once the caliper is removed , you will need to free the rotor from the wheel bearing/hub assembly . A large hammer will be required if rusted to the hub, then you may need to back off the e-brake shoes through the slot in the back of the backing plate, you must use a brake spoon and a pick to back off the adjuster to allow the rotor/drum to clear the ebrake shoes. please rate my answer, this helps me out , Thankyou have a great weekend. Remove the rear wheel, you now have access to the brake drum. to remove it may be another story. There may be a few obstacles. First may be adjustment: You need to access the the backing plate, and remove the rubber plug if equipped. Then using a brake adjusting tool, back off the adjuster. It this still does not release it may be because of 2 more possibilities, one is a frozen drum to the hub (take a large hammer and hit between the studs-DON'T HIT THE STUDS. Second may be a worn drum from the linings wearing into it. Take it to a pro at this point, you may still lose the shoes or hardware in the process.
on a 07 f450 and a f550 there is brake shoes in a rear drum behind the rotor the backing plate on one side has a slot on top the other side its on the bottom use a brake tool to adjust the star wheel
Above is correct, some body panels are interchangeable some aren't...Headlights, front fenders, hood yes. Doors unsure, bed and back no (obviously). The underpinnings (suspension) are similar, but not exact...and depending on the year, the Explorer went to independent rear suspension, while the sport trac kept the solid axle differential.
