Well first up, we are FIXYA dot com and nothing to do with GPX whomever they are? So basically we are not who you think we are. We are a group of volunteers who are just like you helping others because our brains allow us to.
All questions need FULL 'make model (what it is)' as the first 3 words in every question. This is a vague question of yours! I am off out shopping, but will return and try and answer you. Our Artificial Intelligence Answer Bots Liza Cat and Raja Azeem will probably answer while I am gone. I will try and give you a much more comprehensive answer than both combined!
I have a GPX model TVTR149BVP that will not come on I have used it for one month what is wrong?
Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Positive and ground connections. Use a test light at your fuse box. Fuses 1 4 8 12 16 show to be hot all the time. check for voltage using the test light. If nothing, have to track voltage from positive battery post. Ground is very important as well.
You could have problem with ignition switch? The ignition switch is spring loaded from crank position?
I don't think any of the previous answers came from a qualified technician. heres the deal: starting the car has nothing to do with the headlights, it cant be a bad fuse because like you said it turns over once, the alternator has nothing to do with the starting of the car, and fuel pump wont keep the car from turning over.
follow these steps in order
FIRST, take your battery to an auto parts store and have it checked, even if it shows a full charge it can still be bad.
if the battery test good, clean both battery terminals well. starting the car requires a lot more energy from your battery then the headlights, so even with bright lights there could still be an issue with the terminals.
if the car still wont start, check the battery cable itself for corrosion, if corrosions present replace the cable.
next check the ground wire from the battery to the frame of the car. make sure it has a clean connection on the frame.
if these are good and still wont turn over, then replace the starter.
Check your battery connections - where the cables connect to the battery posts AND where the cables connect to the starter/main power feed and where the ground cable connects to the engine and/or frame. A poor or corroded connection can cause intermittent problems and poor charging performance.
Sorry to say that it sounds like one of the cells in your battery has 'died'. It will show a full charge when sat on the bench but as soon as you put a heavy load (like the starter motor) on it it won't want to know. Only solution is a new battery.
clean all connections very good ( batt post connectors, gound wire from batt to frame/motor, also clean starter connections, and alternator connections) I know pep boys checked but you cannot properly check a battery unless it has a full charge!!!!! If it wont accept a full charge then batt is bad, If it charges to a full charge and fails a draw test the batt is bad. also when a draw test is done you can have the charging system checked also to make sure batt is recieving the proper charge input. all inexpensive checks, get it running and take it to a garage, 3 min test usually not even a charge most of the time. NOT A DEALER, and have them show you what they are doing. if you are a female have a male friend go with you or have it done. I dont care what anybody says!!!!!! When it comes to a inexperienced female, the DEALERSHIP,the REPAIR GARAGES will all try to get some kind of MONEY out of you before you leave their place of business.
hi, the problem you are describing sounds like the starter motor has packed up or a wire might have even come off the back of the starter if your sure the battry is fully charged then the chances are the problem is with the starter motor, that is where i would start looking anyway
