yes,
you have air in the hydraulic system.
get a buddy to push the pedal for you. locate the oil drain on the clutch.
1. pump the pedal couple of times, then press and hold hard to the floor.
2. while holding the pedal, release the drain. after it squirts, re-tighten.
repeat the steps untill the pedal is firm and there is no more air bubles when draining.
SOURCE: clutch
believe it or not, the floormat on my 2000 Sunfire will sometimes slip forward and hold the clutch pedal down against the floor. It truly feels like a mechanical problem, but simply pull the floormat away and the pedal pops right back up!
SOURCE: grinding and very hard to shift, and now the shifter is stuck
how does the clutch pedal feel?..clutch out of adjustment, needs clutch job...kev-mn.
SOURCE: It feels like the clutch may be going out
you may have a hydrolic clutch .. check for a master cylinder similar to the brake master cyclinder near the clutch pdl .. it may be low on fluid .. .. i am assuming you meant that the clutch had to be near the floor before DISengaging .. if its a mechanical hookup instead then there is an adjustment for that (free pedal adj)
if the adjustment is out of range then you could have a bad throwout bearing .. but usually they make noise when the go bad ..
